I went to the Sky lounge to check it out on my date nights with my wife. Way too much security for the little place. One security guy started frisking me down without saying anything to me. When I said something he catch an attitude. The place is all sectioned off for VIP only and the only way you can have a table is to buy a bottle. There were only three menus and two of them waitresses had. It was way too loud the bar tender could not here my order. And there were only a hand full of people in there. One of the employees looked like he was sleeping one manager drinking. Could not go and exspirence the whole place. I expected nicer and more lights. Paid 8 something for a beer in a can and didn't even get a lap dance. I've had better times at a strip club. Save you money don't even Waste your time going to this place.
We were here on a Sunday night and the place was pretty dead, we were the only party in the restaurant. The food was very delicious with decent prices for a classy dining. We ordered a pitcher of Mojito's, this was totally watered down and a disappointment. The service was just average and they were in a hurry to get us out of the restaurant.
Ceviche smelled, the plantains were stale, the drinks were horrible, the service was not attentive, we sat at the bar, the bartenders were to busy goofing off with the other co workers, My date could not get her oder in, and the place was dead. I was truly embarrassed because I picked the spot, and even after reading all the negative reviews I still went, and all that I read was all so true. I am a luxury Concierge and I will never ever recommend this venue for anything that my residents. It's true what they say, when you eat at a establishment were the Gratuity is already added the mentality of the service and quality will always be below standard because they are always making there tips, Management is the main reasons these nice restaurants fail
We went on a Sunday evening. The restaurant was busy, but we didn't have to wait too long. Our server was very nice and welcomed us. We ordered a few different dishes to try. The portions were large and the prices were fair. The ropa vieja was well flavored, and the Lechon asado we ordered was loaded with flavor. We had no room for dessert , maybe I'll start with dessert first next time
Excellent place go party, the food was horrible...My fish tested like a "tire", I really hate my food. The decoration is really nice and the drinks were over-price. I live in NYC and I haven't paid so much for a drink in the downtown area.
Just left there. Lacey and other 2 ladies were fantastic. We had soup and drinks. Band was great. Just surprised at low rating they desire much better. Lots of energy Gloria great job as usual.
Had a Birthday dinner for 8, we schedule a month in advance to have a table upstairs and didn't get it,was told that it was just unavailable, well that,s unacceptable madam Estefan . we order steak, chicken and shrimp. To say the least the steak was tough unable to be eaten, and was send back and still charge me for it.The shrimp was not fresh. It was a very sad decision to come here especially when we spent over $400. The only pleasant time we had was when we went upstairs had a few drinks music was ok. We were expecting a lot more consideration Gloria Estefan name is on it. Find another place
Save your money and stay away. Food was luke warm and bland. Server added an 18% gratuity to the check for a table of 3. When asked why the gratuity was added he stated it was corporate policy which I do not believe since I have visited the Bongo's in Orlando and never had this problem. Also it was not disclosed on the menu or at the time of the reservation. Too many other option to go to this place. The group consensus was the gratuity was added due to the ethnic make up of the group. Take my advice stay away from the terrible unscrupulous establishment.
If you are Spanish and or have ever tasted any real Cuban food this place is pure dissapointment! All the food was extremely dry it had no taste at all something as basic as moros which I thought was really hard to screw up they screwed up! The fried plantains looks like they were fried before The oil was fully hot because they came soaking in oil and rubery. I had lechon The meat tasted like nothing aside from the lime juice I used. The place is very nice atmosphere and the waiter had a great attitude but the food is the worst Cuban food I've had in my life! The chef should be ashamed of serving it and calling it Cuban cuisine. I for one will never step foot into Bongos again nor will I recommend it to anyone. La carreta serves better tasting food than this place no question asked. Seriously 100% disapointed I could had spend my money somewhere better.than this with real Cuban food.
First time going to the Hard Rock last night and I had a good time. Bongos was one of the many places I stopped at. However, the bartender taking care of me was not polite. He charged me for someone else's drinks because they walked away from the bar without paying, thinking that I would not notice the extensive charge for ONE canned Heineken. He didn't want to give me my money back at first, but when he finally voided the charge he decided to keep some of it for his tip. Honestly, I wish I got this guy's name so I could call Bongos and let them know. Needless to say, I won't be buying anything from there anymore especially with a credit card. Very unprofessional and rude.
