Nice spot on the river to stop. The difference in water temperature was very apparent. Eagle Creek was substantially warmer than the main channel of the Clackamas. I assume that’s due to the water being released from deeper colder dam releases. Eagle Creek is running fairly shallow and must be heating up without a tree canopy somewhere very near upstream from here.
Great fishing and hiking spot, not too many trails.
Nice area to cleanse the mind and be with MOTHER NATURE. Trails are easy to find and conditions are prone to change with the Weather. Very little trash here, it's still perfectly Serene here thanks to Conscientious Visitors.
Easy trails to some simple fishing locations. Water was low and not a fish in sight. Probably more productive October-December.
Water to low and slow for Coho.
Awesome park, be careful of the burnt trees on the way to the water as they are fall hazards but no better way to spend a summer day!
Love it here it's literally my backyard, I live walking distance from the park and always have lived walking distance from the park for almost 20 years. I spend so much time wandering the trails and finding some nice fishing spots. It's my go to place to relax, Crack a beer, unwind and think. My doggo loves coming with too he can swim and run the trails as well. It always feels so comfortable when I come to this park. I highly recommend it here.
Had a nice time sitting on the logs and skipping rocks on the water! Perfect spot for a quick trip or make it an all day affair , the walk from the parking lot to the shoreline/water isn't long or hard.
The Recreation Area is small compared to others but is is very close to the greater Portland Area and has access to the Clackamas River and fishing. It has s small walking trail for walking the dog or your girl/boy friend. Be aware there are a lot of trees that have fallen since the big Ice storm of 2021. It is a good place to do Parks on the Air from the parking lot if your into Ham Radio. There are no picnic tables just downed trees and high grass.
A fun place to go for the day. A nice creek full of life and good views
