If your looking for level concrete slabs this is not the place for you. If your looking for a pleasant, very clean and nicely run campground you have found it. The showers were very well taken care of and very clean. The people who work there actually make you feel like their glad to have you. I stayed for 7 nights and was glad I did. Nice job Boone KOA.
Just got back from a night spent with my two kids and this will probably be our new family favorite campground. We tent camp and this was the first time we've gotten to have a grassy campsite. The pool was amazing, clean and just the right temperature. I assumed with it being hot that it would be packed but we had the pool to ourselves. Having mini golf, a playground and the goats to feed were awesome to give our kids something to do. Being close to Boone with lots to see and do was super convenient as well. The staff was super friendly and since our trip got cut short a day because my son came down sick, one of the ladies doing an art project asked if she could pray for us. Already looking at the calendar to figure out when we can get back.
Loved it here!! they had lots to do for the kids there is a pool, miniature golf for 1$ each, playground and a area with goats to feed which was my daughter favorite thing, a nice big dog walk area, bathrooms and showers were clean and everyone was friendly at the office, the sites were a bit small you had to park your vehicle in the road in front of our motor home when the people left next to us in the morning with their motor home they had to knock on our door and ask us to move so they could get by, and the internet wasn’t so great but your on top of a mountain so what do you expect
The bathrooms were clean. My kids really enjoyed playing Cornhole, swimming in the pool and feeding the goats! Most of the camp sites are shaded too. We'll be coming back in the fall.Rooms: 5/5
My wife and I checked in for two days for a quick get away for our anniversary. On Sunday, we were leaving and the serpentine bell on my Cummins broke. The host, Gary, was so kind and took me to the parts store to buy a new belt. Then, I figured out I didn’t have the tools on my truck to put it on. Gary looked EVERYWHERE to see if he could find tools! When he couldn’t find any either, he called Christine, the general manager. Her and Scott, her husband who happens to be a mechanic showed up within 30 minutes and Scott went straight to work. It wasn’t long and he had me back up and running. These folks are A LIFESAVER! If this wasn’t more than enough to make me decide for sure that I’d be back, Christine and her husband called me later on in the evening just to make sure we made it home! WHO DOES THAT THESE DAYS?! YOU CAN DEFINITELY BET WE WILL BE BACK! AND ILL PROBABLY TRY TO GET MY BROTHER AND HIS WIFE TO COME WITH IS NEXT TIME! All this is in addition to all the kindness and attention provided to guests while we were there camping. If you’re looking for a quiet place to get away for a few days, that’s ran by good Christian folks, then the KOA BOONE HOLIDAY is the place to go! Go give them a visit!
Our 1st stay here June 23. Almost every lot has a shade tree or 2 along with a fire ring. This campground is on a hill and a lot of the sites are not quite level but not terrible bad. All roads and sites are gravel. That only makes it tricky if you’re on a motorcycle, which we were. Bathrooms were very clean, nice game room with pool table and ping pong , tv, movies, books. A store with a good selection of goods, putt putt golf, and a pen full of goats for the kids to feed, and a nice playground area. Firewood too, but it can be bought cheaper just down the road between the campground and town. I would visit again if in the area. Also have cabins for rent, some look like they might have a bath and others Probly not. The cabins are close to a bathroom but a good hike to take a shower on the other side. All the machines in the laundry worked but 2 of the dryers did not really get clothes dried without running an extra time. At 3900 ft elevation the weather was very nice during our visit, low 50s in the morning and mid 70s daytime. We did Geandfather mountain one day and Linville Falls another day and rode the Blue Ridge parkway and some other beautiful backroads. Also MAKE SURE TO USE THEIR DIRECTIONS FOR GETTING TO THE CAMPGROUND, do not depend on GPS.
Very nice campground. Very friendly staff. Def will come back. About 20 min or less to Blowing Rock.Service: 5/5
Great location, and well kept grounds. Kids loved the goats and mini-golf. Very peaceful.Rooms: 5/5
Stayed in our own camping unit. The location was great. Downtown Boone is charming.Location: 5/5
My wife and I enjoyed our stay. Being in our 70s we loved the peace and quiet of being in the mountains. The facilities were clean and well maintained. We are tent campers and it would be nice to have more shaded tent sites, but we lucked out and got E10 with a nice shade tree.
