Both Hands is a budding non-profit organization that currently provides services in the Trenton, NJ Area. We engage the teenage youth with arts ranging from Filmmaking, Video Art, and Photography to Dance and Poetry.
Both Hands…The Artlet is an organization created in 2011 by Bentrice Jusu as an introduction to potential of The Arts to transform lives in Trenton, NJ. In the seven square mile capital city of Trenton, the lives of children and teens are becoming increasingly jeopardized by many factors that include deeply-entrenched networks of crime, high poverty, torn or struggling families, and a deteriorating public school system. It is the belief and vision of Both Hands that the youth of Trenton need and deserve a positive escape from these factors—as it relates to both their emotions and their futures.
Having experienced the power of Art to provide tools for building emotional stability, academic success, professional resources, and personal relationships in her own life, Ms. Jusu founded the organization with the goal of creating similar pathways for all teens in her hometown. To this end, Both Hands…The Artlet has implemented the first full-length 7-week summer program this past summer 2012), after completing a successful pilot program in the summer of 2011!
