Easily one of the best campgrounds I’ve ever been to. Lake looks very nice, but we didn’t have time to check it out. There are almost 100 sites, and they seem to all be unique and excellent with great flat pads for tents. We stayed way back in the # 70s loop, and had the whole thing to ourselves, even though it was a summer weekend. Also love the reasonable rates $18/night for tent camping at time of this review. This is a hidden gem, that I can’t recommend enough. Nearby activities: Wolf river kayaking, rafting, tubing
I was at the beach with my service ‍ dog, looking forward to a nice day. But got shouted at a woman, who said she was the Camp Host . She embarrassed me, Infront of everyone on the beach Telling me that my dog was not aloud on the beach, on the Sand. Because dogs pee and poop. #1 Shouting, She could have come over and talked to me! #2 While I was there a kayak boat came in the swimming area, not aloud! She was to busy sitting at a table talking. When the kayak was by the swimmers! #3 Unreal that she allowed large group of people, had a park picnic table Pulled sitting,in the water by the beach . Full of food and drinks. #4 My service dog ‍ is trained, and is not a . I left the beach , feeling discussed about it all. I go to the beach because it is a Beautiful place to be! Sandy Beach and Beautiful place! The park is very popular for camping, with sites on the water.
Always love to get into the woods for an end of the year vacation. The host was very friendly and helpful. Clean bathrooms and a beautiful setting close to town. Enjoy the outdoors !!Rooms: 4/5
NFS campground ideal for setting up camp enjoying the surrounding area. Ample opportunity for hiking, Mt bike riding, road and gravel riding. Actually there is off road trail the Nicolet Roche you can pickup out of boat landing. Showers are available, some electric hookups. Wolf River Cafe up the road and Sammiches for barbecue in nearby White Lake.
Boulder lake is mostly “only reservable “. There’s no spontaneous camping anymore. You can’t get sites, and if you luckily get one, it’s not a great site. The good sites are all reservable for people from southern Wisconsin. Not happy about this Wisconsin DNR and national campgrounds . I’ve heard many complaintsService: 2/5
This is an excellent place to camp. Pretty quiet this last week but as the temps warm up it will get very busy with the 90 sites. Quiet this week with showers and cool temperatures, the trees are showing color and the acorns are dropping making it loud in the woods. Camp hosts at the entrance and back by the second shower building are here yet . 1 camp host is leaving this week and the other is here until the closure on the 10th.
Magical place!!! Love it here!!! My boyfriend and I have done van life in southern OR and now we have a home base in southern WI, but we still love traveling and camping. We just put the rooftop tent back up for the summer and this was the first trip we took this year - and it was an amazing experience! First of all, the campsite hosts are really awesome and super nice! They are very friendly, helpful, and kind - always going above and beyond for all of us campers! Second thing to mention is how perfect the campsites are … I’ve been to a lot of campsites and this one - by far - outshines them all on so many levels! We stayed at 82 the first night, which was great, and then got lucky enough to stay at 35, which was right on the lake and a complete dream come true! The sites are spaced out enough to give privacy and lots of room. We can’t do campfire smoke for health reasons and the large amount of space between the sites really helps a lot. The third fabulous feature is the bathrooms/showers that are close, clean, and well-maintained for a campground. There is nothing better than taking a nice, hot shower after going for a swim in the lake! Another great feature is the refuse areas for disposing of trash/waste. These were also really close and within easy walking distance, which was much appreciated. Cell phone reception was decent for us during our stay. My boyfriend has T-Mobile and was able to access internet and send/receive texts. I have Verizon and was able to make phone calls and send/receive texts. There is so much to do and hopefully you’ll spend most of your time letting nature be your entertainment, but I would recommend bringing books, downloading movies, tv shows, podcasts, etc. before your trip, just in case. We were only able to stay 2 nights, but it was such a good time and - although I would very much like to keep it a secret - I highly recommend the Boulder Lake Campground to anyone who loves camping experiences! Happy 4th 2022!!! xoxo
Our favorite campground a d a nice lake to swim in.Location: 4/5
Spent weekend w my sis n her husband very beautiful place. The lake was awesome saw a loon! People are fun n friendly!
My family has been coming here to camp and fish for 60+ years. The campground has been expanded and the facilities are improved. It's still as forested as car camping can be. The lake is still clear. There are plenty of sights to see in the surrounding areas and the Wolf River is a tubing hotspot. Unless one is facing the tower on the opposite shore, cellular service is poor at best.
