Overpriced. Consistently 10-20 cents higher than every other Sunoco and they have the max setting for debit card pre-authorization at the pump.
For gas station it is good, But beware of hiring them for snow plowing. You are going to be ripped off. I moved to new home and had to find a new company since the company I hired does not service my new location. I met with the owner when I filled up the gas, and he told me he will do it, so I signed contract, the price was more expensive than my previous company but I needed it, so I agreed. Prior to the winter season, I did not see the markings which they usually put prior to the first snow. I went there and asked, they asked my address and they did come and put markers. First snow falls, they did not come. Then we had snow storm, my car got stuck on our driveway and until 4-5 pm they did not come, I had to call them several times and finally they came, then another storm came, I called a night before and talked to the owner and made sure they will plow this time instead of begging them to come. He said he would come at 3 pm the day of the snow storm, they did not come, at 5 pm I had to call again and got really angry, they finally came really late, and we then had over 3 inches of snows in several days and they never came to plow. All in all, they literally only come 4 times max, for the contract of 13 plowings. They left snow so much and covered the pedestrian pathway and thank God I bought snow pusher and we had to do it ourselves and of course those over 3 inches snow days, because THEY JUST DO NOT COME TO PLOW as promised. They lost me as the customer, I will not come anymore to purchase gas or other services.
Very pleasant, kind, and helpful group of people. My delivery truck broke down in their parking lot. The owner let me borrow some of his personal tools so I could wrench on it myself. When a second problem arose that I wasn't able to take care of they offered to work on it the next day even though the truck wouldn't fit inside their shop. They had it fixed in two days for a price I thought was plenty fair all things considered.
I pulled in since I needed gas, had 2 kids in car, a frigid Rochester day, and they offer full service. The representative noticed a large nail sticking out of one of my tires. He immediately offered to patch it and I was on my way in under 30 minutes. Folks here are incredibly attentive, nice, and helpful and prevented me from a nasty tire blow out. Will definitely come back.
I needed air in my tire immediately and I pulled into the shop bright and early. The employee was more than friendly and willing to fill my tire up. A few days later I needed new tires. They gave me a very competitive price and were very accommodating and quick as I needed to get the new tires put on during my lunch break. Everyone there is very friendly and knowledgeable. I will be giving them my business for now on.
Had a nail in my new tire, They did a great job plugging it. I just pulled up and even in a Sunday they did it on the spot! Five star service!
BE WARNED. I have had multiple bad experiences here out of necessity. The owner likes to lie about and not disclose costs. The first time I came here I was told they could get me in right away. My car did not get seen for over a week. The second time my leather steering wheel came back with many small cuts in it, and seeds from an everything bagel all over the center console. The third time, I asked for 3 simple things to be checked visually, and they tried to charge me 2 hours labor for just that after they performed multiple extra inspection steps I did not ask for. I had to call the owner and remind him of the law to have my labor hours adjusted. If you come here, ask for a WRITTEN estimate, and do not pay for any work you didn't ask for.
I can't say enough good things about Bowen's Sunoco. The brakes locked up on my work truck on a Friday night so I had it towed to Bowen's and they had it done Saturday afternoon. They went beyond just checking the main problem and when they checked the other brake pads, they found they may not have been installed properly. I wasn't even charged for the extra shop time it took for the extra work since they had already quoted me a price. They also came in early because they knew I needed it back ASAP to get back to work. The mechanic was very helpful and explained everything they worked on so I understood clearly.
On a Saturday evening this past May, I was making my way from Montreal to Lockport, NY, on I-90 when the tire of my car flew off recent tire change wasn't performed properly. [Side note: Fortunately, no one around me was hurt tire flew across the median and onto the other side of the highway, but there was no oncoming traffic at that moment. I was able to keep control of the car and guide it over to the breakdown lane where it eventually came to a stop.] The tow truck company made some calls to try to find a place that was open on Sundays, so that's how I ended up at Bowen's Sunoco. They were kind and reassuring when I arrived, as I was still a little shaken. I came back on Sunday, and they explained the damage, what repairs would be needed, and reassured me that they would do a full review of the car before putting me back on the road. As soon as they had the parts they needed, they prioritized the car on Monday morning so that I could get back to Montreal as soon as possible. More importantly, they showed me exactly what they were fixing and made me feel comfortable about getting back in the car. And the cost was reasonable. I am very grateful that my car ended up at Bowen's Sunoco.
Great service. I've had cars for about 23 years and so have dealt with dozens of service stations. The attitude of the staff at Bowen's Sunoco is very good. I've pulled in at all hours for various things and always receive professional and friendly service. I live only a few blocks away and so have dropped off both cars for various service in the past two years that I've lived here and have been completely satisfied with the results.
