The Boxford FD is part of the Public Safety branch of the Town of Boxford. Organizational structure of the department is a full-time Chief overseeing (currently) two captains and four lieutenants working out of two fire stations. In addition, there are two full-time employees that work a 40 hour week staffing the department Monday thru Friday. The balance of the department is staffed on a call-paid basis. Our service area is a community of residential single-family homes located 30 minutes north of Boston. Interstate Route 95 cuts a five mile path through the town over which extremely heavy volumes of car and truck traffic travel daily on their way to points in northern New England and south towards Boston and New York. State roads Route 133 and 97 cut an east west path connecting our town to the New England coastline.
The Boxford Fire Department proudly protects 8000 people living in an area of 24 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of career and paid call status.
