The Fire Chief’s car (Car 1) is used for incident command purposes and for the chief to conduct official business in (see apparatus page). Utilizing this equipment, the Department serves the town in all areas of fire suppression, motor vehicle accident response, alarm investigations, emergency medical services, public education, and any other public assistance requiring our personnel and/or equipment.

Emergency Medical Services are under the management of the EMS Division. All firefighters are certified to at least the “First Responder” level, with thirteen currently holding EMT certification. Medical training and operations are rapidly expanding in order to provide the town with first class emergency medical services.

Groveland Fire Rescue operates a Fire Prevention Division to conduct inspections and enforce fire code, as well as operating a Fire Education Program to educate on how to prevent fires and what to do if there is a fire. The Department’s Training Division is responsible for developing and executing training evolutions, and ensuring that all members are up to current standards in EMS, as well as ensuring compliance with NFPA 1001 standards.

Firefighters train together as a Department once a week in various topics to keep their skills at an expert level. Firefighters also attend individually, and in small groups, various classes offered through the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy. Training to a high level in all areas of operation continues to be a top priority for the Department.

Groveland Fire Rescue’s overall mission is to continue to make Groveland a safe community to live and work in, and to offer Fire/Rescue services in the most cost effective and practical manner.
