My wife fell and broke her wrist yesterday. She first went to the Billings Clinic in Bozeman, where upon visual inspection, was promptly told to go to the ER. Good on them! At the ER, Deb was admitted and made comfortable and the process to diagnose was started immediately. The whole team was fantastic! Thank you, to Dr. Martin, PA Melissa, nurse Rachael and the radiology staff for such superb care! You all made the best out of a bad day.
If I could rate the ER department a negative I would! I have NEVER had worse care in my life! I was airlifted in my husband requested I go to Idaho but was denied due to “weather” when I arrived I was left in the hallway. The attending DR mocked the fact I had been airlifted. The emts made that choice seeing I had all the symptoms of a stroke and my ecg was all over the place there were concerns with my heart. I’ve never been in so much pain in my life. I begged for help was told no by the Dr and said I’ll give you a muscle relaxer. Then I was attached to an ECG machine in the hallway with no privacy my shirt lifted etc. The individual taking my ECG went the get the Dr multiple times because of readings. As I was being transported the EMTs gave me Aspirin, tested my blood sugar which was really low, my heart rate was all over the place my blood pressure wouldn’t stabilize. They told the flight crew we are seeing issues with her heart. Once finally in for scans My IV ruptured during my CT scans pouring Dye all over me twice. The radiologist told the nurse not to use that IV again and replace it they didn’t listen. My report stated they recommended a rescan of my chest with a possible Pulmonary Embolism, the dr said in the notes they didn’t feel it necessary! Then my body started shaking uncontrollably and locking up into the worst pain. I begged for help and never once saw the dr. My nurse ran for the dr and came back saying “she thinks you’re having a panic attack” not even close! After Being released I was told to get labs 24 hours later to check on my levels, they never called it in resulting in sitting in Big Sky for 3 hours. The ER refused to call in the labs even though the discharge notes stated that and told us to go. We had to have my PC dr call them in. Which my labs weren’t good. My symptoms are still severe resulting in care from elsewhere. I’ve defended BD over the years had all my healthcare there. I heard so many rumors how bad the ER was and thought no way. Even so far as my sister in law having a pulmonary embolism while pregnant and the ER gave her MUSCLE relaxers! She nearly died. I still gave them the benefit of the doubt!! After this and seeing how horrible it is first hand I plan to pull everything I won’t be putting my family’s life in jeopardy in time of need. While there I heard an older woman again in the hall screaming for help crying. Her husband helpless, crying trying to comfort his wife. I heard a man screaming across the hall for help. This place is a JOKE you’d be better off not having any service than what they offer. I hope someone does something to change this because what’s happening in this department is a crime.
I have received care from Bozeman D my whole life and I can say that care has decreased significantly over the years. Working with other health care facilities in many other states has made me realize the lack of care I have received from them. They are the only hospital that I have worked with that charges $15 plus .50 cents per page for medical release information. It is hard to get ahold of anyone and don't even bother applying for finical aid as they will put you through the ringer. Family medicine is the dirtiest hospital I have ever seen, dust everywhere. I met a nurse who is working in Portland, she said she went to MSU but decided to not work for BZ D in 2008 because they had such a bad reputation then and still does today. After receiving AMAZING care at Billings Clinic I would highly recommend anyone going over there and save yourself time, tears, frustration and money. All of the Billings Clinic doctors are really professional and actually care about their patients. I have finally felt heard and I am on a road of recovery that I have been wanting for years. Please don't go to Bozeman Health.
We were sent to the ER by urgent care for my fiancé as his BP measured 220/140. He was in a hypertensive crisis and on the verge of what could have been a heart attack or stroke. Went to the ER, told them his symptoms to Nurse #1, mind you he could barely talk. Nurse #2 asks his symptoms. Nurse #3 asks his symptoms. Doctor comes in and asks his symptoms like are you kidding me at this point.there was clearly Zero communication. 4hrs later we are told CT scan is clear but his kidneys took a beating. Explains nothing further, no answers to his high BP, not one word about this new kidney diagnosis, in fact still released him with a critical BP. Doctor said he’d refer another doctor and to expect to wait months for an appointment. Gave us forms to take home that says if your BP goes over 180 call 911… seriously? This is a joke of a hospital. Thanks for nothing.
The staff are overworked and underpaid. If you need care at this hospital make sure you are diligent about reviewing your bills and what was submitted to insurance and that they submitted to your correct, current plan. The errors the billing department make can cost you thousands if you don’t catch them. Unfortunately, trying to get through to that department to get them to rectify their mistakes is close to impossible. If you are granted financial assistance, you need to be extra diligent and keep a copy of the letter granting it to you as no one in the billing department of this hospital will know about it or use it probably because they’re overworked and underpaid.
Just had my tubes tied and I had the MOST carring and considerate staff ever. Made me feel so much less nervous and ensured I was completely comfortable. Best first surgery expirience I could ever imagine.
I had to take my 2-year-old to the ER in November. The staff was so kind to him and made everything feel relaxed and not scary. He had such a good experience that even almost 2 months later, he still says things like “I love going to the hospital!” and asks if I can take him to the hospital as though it’s the park. As the parent, I felt like I was treated with respect and my concerns were taken seriously. I was really pleased with the plan of care and I was kept in-the-loop at every step.
I love the nursing staff that I've worked with at Bozeman Health. However, the billing department has left a lot to be desired in customer service as well as urgency and competancy. I initially reached out to inquire why my insurance rejected a claim to find out that 1. Bozeman Health entered the wrong Dx code in their system, and 2. My insurance never received anything from them. Kristy is the main person I talked to and she is extremely condescending. She ignored me when I said my insurance never received anything & acted like it was mine & my outside provider's mistake that they had the wrong code to which I sent PROOF that my provider submitted the correct Dx code. Fast forward 3 months later and I get a collections threat letter and a follow up call from someone else in billing to see if I had been helped. I told her no and what had happened, to which instead of working to resolve the issue, she had me call a different phone number at BH. As the customer, I should not have to spend all of this time on hold and in a panic because of collections, for an error that Bozeman Health made and refused to take responsibility for. Edit: To make an even worse case for Bozeman Health, I had reached out to their patient relations department to complain about the above experience only to be met with the same attitude I got from billing by someone who is supposed to remedy poor customer service. The administration of this hospital should absolutely be ashamed of the culture they're presenting to patients. And this is coming from someone who works in customer service and makes every effort possible to be a patient and friendly customer themselves.
Drove 2.5 hours for an appointment and apparently I was 7 minutes late even though my watch said 2 minutes. So the front desk told me I have to reschedule. Even though I drove that far and walked all over trying to find the office. Seriously I will be going to Missoula and not back there. Terrible customer service.
Immediate attention to a potentially dangerous situation ! Proper diagnosis and top notch care from the critical care unit as we as the medical cate floor . The doctors and nursing staff wete great ! Thank you one and all !! Made it safely home to N. J.
