The Bridgeport Township Police Department has been serving the residents of Bridgeport since 1848 and has the following staff as of 01/01/2013: The Chief of Police, 1 Detective Sergeant, 1 patrol Sergeant, 4 full-time Patrol Officers and 1 civilian Clerk/Dispatcher. We serve approximately 10,700 residents and handled 7,239 calls for service in 2011. Our Officers are highly trained with most carrying Bachelors’ degree and multiple in-service certifications. Our departments’ special assignments, such as Neighborhood Watch and Bike Patrol, have been suspended since 01/01/2011 due to budget restraints.
