The Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department was started in 1951, with just one homemade pumper truck. We have come a long ways since then with 5 pieces of apparatus, better training, and better equipment. The department responds to about 50 calls a year protecting around 900 residents and 50 sq. miles. We also respond to surrounding towns when they need additional resources. Our calls range from Building fires, car accidents, wild land fires, Haz-matt incidents, alarm activations, carbon monoxide issues, water rescue, and various other calls.
To save lives and protect property in Bridgewater and the surrounding communities.
