I love Brighter Sky Counseling! Very caring and knowledgeable clinicians that are professional, understanding and trauma informed. I feel confident recommending this practice to anyone.
Very disappointed with the care I have recently received from this practice. In the past, when it was just Erin, it was amazing. I recently started seeing Ken. That was a HUGE MISTAKE. Every appointment felt like health issue olympics. The majority of the appointments were spent with him talking about himself and me giving HIM advice. I didn’t mind at first because I am well versed in the medical community as I’ve been dealing with chronic illness my whole life. But it was every appointment. The biggest thing was that every appointment I had to repeat myself. He asked me the same questions like he had zero idea who I was. So every appointment we spent 15 minutes having a repeat conversation about a health issue we had every appointment. And as soon as that clock struck the end of my appointment, he would switch off to a “don’t talk to me get out of my office” attitude that would leave me feeling jostled. Today was the straw that broke the camel’s back. He had always told me during appointments that he understood chronic illness and understood that life is unpredictable and to not worry about having to change appointments. Sounds great? Right? Well, over the weekend I was exposed to Covid and am awaiting a negative result and decided I should cancel and not expose their office. Got a phone call today that Ken is discharging me from the practice. It’s okay. If they are going to discharge me after this many missed appointments, they would have done it when I start having surgeries again anyway. I never had this problem with Erin. So unless you like repeating yourself every appointment, never getting past small talk in therapy, and having your therapist talk about themselves more than you, avoid Ken.
