Dr. Douglas Wunderly began this practice in Kalamazoo in 1990 as an interventional and general cardiologist. He founded Advanced Cardiac Healthcare in February, 1992. As the practice grew, it moved from the Forum Building on Rose Street to the Bronson Methodist Hospital campus. The specialty expanded as well and Dr. Joel Reinoehl, an electrophysiologist joined us in 1995. Dr. Christopher Rogers arrived two years later as an interventional cardiologist and has further developed skills in peripheral vascular disease as well. To provide a greater range of expertise, Dr. John Schonder joined the group in 2000, with specialized training in echocardiography and adult congenital heart disease. As demand for our services increased, Drs. Michael Pawlik and Robert Williams were added as general cardiologists. In 2005, Dr. Thomas Keller, Jr, joined the practice to provide interventional and peripheral vascular disease treatment. Dr. Brett Eliuk joins us in 2007 as a general cardiologist. In 2008, we added Dr. Michael Pack, who specializes in Comprehensive Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology. Although all complementary backgrounds and expertise, the physicians in our practice have come from the Midwest with commitment to the area and bring up-to-date skills and knowledge directly from their training program.
Office locations have been added over the years to include satellites at Allegan General Hospital, Paw Paw, and Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. On June 1, 2012, Advanced Cardiac Healthcare partnered with Bronson to form Bronson Advanced Cardiac Healthcare. These service expansions were all made with an eye toward improving access to care in a patient’s community and maintaining a high level of quality patient care.
Our practice was founded on the premise of putting the patients’ needs first. The practice has been successful by this philosophy. We also strive to provide personal care, stress the physician/patient relationship and trust. As our practice grows and cardiology becomes more complex, it is our goal to maintain the above philosophy and way of practice.
