The Brooklyn Latin School is a specialized high school in New York City, founded in 2006.
The Brooklyn Latin School culture is unique: there are few schools in the United States that mandate the study of Latin and have Latin quotes "literally dripping from the walls" (as one visitor put it). We believe that the study of Latin grounds our students in the foundation elements of American society and gives them a greater capacity for acquiring other languages in the future.
We believe the tradition we are building on - along with our culture, our excellent magistri, our current discipuli, and rigorous curriculum - will prepare our students to become the type of leaders that the founders of Boston Latin envisioned when leading our country nearly four hundred years ago.
