Great food. I got chicken dinners and fries the first time I went, then got the chicken Caesar salad this time and it was the best one I've ever had. I came back a few weeks later and we got the steak nachos as an appetizer along with the Mac n cheese bites. Both were delicious. The only problem we had was 45 minutes to get our main entrees and the service was not good. Everybody was nice tho, and the host tried hard as well. It was a Wednesday I believe.
Nice place, the service is good, the servers are polite and helpful. The food is good and is plentiful. For the size group we had, the service was attentive and quick. The portions of the food were big and satisfying. Nice menu, with a good variety to choose from. Look forward to going again. I ordered an Apple pecan salad, and it was enough for quite a meal. I also had the sweet potato fries with a honey dip, which is very good. We all order something different, and we all tried each others food, all very satisfying. I also ordered their stuffed banana peppers, very tasty. If you are looking for a good meal and the feeling of home, this is a good place to try.
This is my new favorite restaurant. Not only was the food excellent but also the service. They have an excellent amount of choices too. The fish frys are big and I saw about 100 go out for take out while I was there. The pork nachos appetizer is awesome. I had the 1/2 LB black & blue burger with a side of Mac n cheese. All i can say is wow. My wife had the turkey club wrap with sweet potato fries. She said it was the best she's had. Leaving, I was not only full but happy to see an active restaurant with a cozy but modern feel to it. You won't leave disappointed. I can't wait to try more items as we go back.
The food here is consistently good. Most every time I come here, it is a pleasant experience with friendly service. This time i got the 8oz serloin with lobstertail special. I'll start off with the sides. I got the roasted veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. The veggies were a mixture of peppers onions zucchini and squash they were cooked perfectly and not to soft. They paired really well with the garlic mashed potatoes and the steak. The lobster tail was also cooked perfectly. Not over cooked and had a light amoint of garnish on it with plenty of butter and a lemon wedge provided added a little flavor. Next the steak. Ordered medium rare but seemed to be maybe a little more on the rare side. This was fine for me as i actually like rare seared stakes but i would say this was still cooked pretty much to order within expectations. The steak was not tough but not too tender either. The only issue i had was a lack of flavor. I added salt and pepper from the table and it was still realy good but without it the steak tasted like it had very little or no seasoning while cooking. If there was more seasoning while cooking or even some steak butter or garlic butter added on top right before serving the steak would have been elevated to the next level. The meal also had o few onion rings and a garlic knot with the stake nothing to say there they were also really good.
Great little family owned/operated place, very glad we stopped. Had their "shrimp hoggie" just because it's such a unique menu item, & thoroughly enjoyed it; would recommend it for anyone that just wants something different. She had their "crispy chicken sandwich" which both looked very good to me, & which she raved about. They also have a pretty wide range of great desserts that they get from a local baker, so satisfying that sweet tooth is a benefit to TWO local businesses. Definitely worth the meal if you find yourself hungry in the area.
I very rarely give a perfect score because most of the time I feel there is always room to improve something. But my experience at brookside was hands down perfect and I don't want them to change a thing. My partner and I were visiting Olcott Beach and couldn't find anywhere good to eat so we searched on Google and came across brookside and made the drive to newfane. Upon entering the restaurant we were promptly greeted by a friendly host and taken to a seat. The indoor atmosphere has a rustic but very homey look. I ordered the lobster stuffed haddock and shrimp and it came with sides of roasted veggies and German potato salad. I ordered coleslaw as an extra side. My partner ordered beer battered fish fry. Everything was perfectly delicious. We got a generous portion side and the price was very reasonable. No price gouging here. Even though we live in Niagara Falls, we will definitely come back here. Please stay perfect
Been here 4 times , each time was great food. BOW IS GREAT FRENCH ONION SOUP PRETTY GOOD ONIONS NEED MORE COOKING TIME SALADS ARE GREAT AND BIGFood: 5/5
had a gift certificate, ordered for take-out hot roast beef sandwich with French fries and Reuben sandwich. the food was very good size and tasty. they were polite. my only complaint is for Reuben sandwich for $14. dollars just came with chips really. that is why gave them 4 stars not a 5 star. 5-6-2023 about a week ago order take out hot roast beef sandwich, with French fries and gravy. well French fries were soggy, and gravy was watered down, GROSS so had to make own gravy from a can and take off soggy bread on sandwich. an make some frozen French fries in the oven they downhill quickly so we are giving them 2 star the meat was good. to think we paid for this. Parking: has plenty parking.
We have been going to the Brookside for the past few months..Friday fish fry are delicious and we've been trying different weekly specials..does not disappoint..desserts are fantastic!!Food: 5/5
First time at The Brookside. Everything was great. I had the hot roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy on everything. Family run operation with a great staffFood: 5/5
