Perfect experience with Budget! Awesome check in guy & other guy who brought up car! I was on a bucket list trip & they went above & beyond! Kia Soul was a blast to drive around Oregon & great gas saver! Return was super easy with John! Plus they gave me the cheaper rate I found after having already had a reservation! Great experience ever! Thank you Eugene Oregon Budget Airport!!
I would not recommend Budget/Avis to anyone. We had dangerous safety issues from the moment we picked up the car. 1The windshield was completely covered in PCV’s causing me to be blinded from oncoming vehicles with headlights on. 2 We had TWO BACK TIRES WITH LESS THAN 10% TREAD. 3One tire had 31 pounds of air. It should have had 41. 4 The battery died THREE TIMES. Budget would do nothing unless we took it back. We would have had to go over a very curvy mountainous road. It would have taken a day of our five day vacation. 5The car was not road worthy, yet they still want over $400 to rent it. I hope you never rent from Budget!
This was the WORST experience we have ever had with a car rental place. The car was beat up and marked up so they knew fully well it was damaged. They charged us an “upgrade fee” for the vehicle and full insurance coverage, which we declined at the time of the rental, and refuse to remove the insurance coverage and honor what we told them. The car had a rattle inside the driver’s door which was rattling anytime the car went above 25 mph. The car was not very clean which meant we had to clean it. The front tire kept losing pressure so we had to keep filling it with air and the oil pressure warning came on on the 2nd to last day of our rental and only had 5% oil pressure remaining. When we returned the car, we asked to speak to a manager and even though they were in the office behind a wall the representative at the counter told us they were there, the manager refused to come out and visit with us. They just gave us the 800 # to call and complain to don’t worry, we will. Same yourself A LOT of headaches and hassle and just spend the extra $$ to rent from a better company, we wish we had especially because with all the additional charges, the rental was more than it would have been at Enterprise. The reason for the only one star rating is simply a cuss there are no “negative star” ratings to choose from.
BE SURE TO KEEP YOUR RECEIPTS AND RECORD MILEAGE/DASH SPECS - I reserved and prepaid for an SUV two months in advance and was at the rental counter on time. I was told there were no SUV’s and that my only choice was either a convertible or a large RAM truck. For this scheduled trip I specifically needed an SUV or at least something remotely similar, like a minivan. To add insult to injury, I was charged a $62.31 fuel charge, even though vehicle was returned with a full tank of gas. Since I returned the rental at 4:30am 6am flight, I took pics of of mileage, dash console and drop off space. It was only after I was charged for fuel that I noticed on the paperwork some vehicle spec discrepancies and the mileage was not even close what was returned. Eugene airport location does not answer their phones. After a deep dive with bot prompts I finally got a live person to correct the fuel charge….HUGE shoutout to Carlos in customer service!!
We had a great experience with Budget Car Rental in Eugene. Pickup and drop off was smooth and the car was very clean and well maintained.
I love flying into the Eugene airport because it is small and easy to navigate, but I will NEVER rent from Budget at this airport EVER again. I was offered a comped small upgrade, and my vehicle was clean and navigation worked great- no issues there. When I returned the keys I was not given any sort of receipt and was told it would be emailed to me- I said that’s fine, as I had prepaid everything and did not anticipate any surprise charges. When I finally received an e-receipt, this company had charged me nearly three hundred dollars in excess charges, on top of what I had already paid. I called repeatedly trying to speak to a real person and when I finally got ahold of the manager, was told that I was charged for the upsell- that I did not agree upon. I was told that I would get a call back when they figured out what was going on- a week has passed and I have not heard from anyone. This is after calling repeatedly, AND emailing the manager every single day. There is now another new $48 charge on my credit card from Budget that I again, have no idea what it is possibly for. I’ve spent hours of time that I really do not have trying to get in contact with someone to reverse these charges, and have gotten virtually nowhere. I have also disputed the charge with my bank. The manager at this airport location is awful. 10/10 would recommend going ELSEWHERE.
I rented a Jeep Compass from here, the oil change warning light came on 2 days into the rental, then either a blown oil line, oil filter came loose, or the oil pan failed. Whatever the issue, oil drained from the engine and left us stuck in Lincoln City, waiting for a tow. Roadside assitance got us another vehicle in Salem. The tow truck driver dropped me off at the airport, and when I went to the counter. The service operator had another Jeep Compass for rent! I checked the oil dipstick and it was severely low too. I refused this vehicle and got a Toyota Corolla instead. Another side note, roadside assistance text me the information for the replacement rental, however when I showed up 1 1/2 hours later, the service desk had no idea I was coming! They could have rented my vehicle without knowing I was coming to pick up.
Waited in line for an hour to get our car. Every other rental car agency was getting costumers through way faster Then had to wait longer for the car to be “cleaned.” It clearly wasn’t cleaned and smelled like cigarettes.
Until now Budget has always been good about accurately quoting the cost at pickup that would be charged to my credit card upon return. In this case we were quoted $399.00 at pickup but upon return of the vehicle, we were charged $594.00. Will not use Budget again.
I returned my rental and left my prescription sunglasses in the car. Tried calling and if you have a lost and found issue the phone system just tells you they can’t take your call and to try back. I went on website and the Eugene location doesn’t show up, so it tells you to call the local office. I called customer service and the disconnected every time! I just want my glasses! There has to be a better system!!
