Don’t ever rent from this location! Made a reservation weeks in advance for two college kid move-ins and was rudely told upon arrival that my 16’ truck wasn’t available, I was forced to take a 26’ diesel truck to traverse the narrow side streets at OSU with GREAT difficulty. After I returned the truck I got a rude voicemail from most likely Gary indicating I would be charged an additional $35 because I didn’t fill the tank up to the neck! This place is the worst , I will be contacting Budgets CEO and asking compensation for this terrible experience and over charge.
Went to get a truck that showed available online. It was a whole hour before they closed. The two older men were extremely rude and turned us away because they said the trucks were all locked up. So I went out to the parking lot to see if uhaul had availabilities and they immediately helped me within 10 mins. As I was pulling out the old man was writing down information on a truck that wasn't locked up. They made a terrible excuse due to the fact they wanted to go home. Absolutely worst business! Never will I allow my family use the rental location.
Highly disappointed in this store. Owner told me there’s was a “mandatory” insurance charge of $300+ when I picked up truck for a cross country move. Of course I was between a rock and a hard place since I had movers waiting on me so I paid. Come to find out it is not mandatory but since I signed the paper budget will not refund my money. This guy is a weasel and a manipulator please don’t give him your money.I should have stuck with U-Haul and from now on I will always go with them at least they are honest.
For anyone out there planning a move soon, do NOT use Budget Truck Rental especially the one in North Olmsted unless you want them to call and cancel your reservation little over 12 hrs before your move. I understand accidents happen and normally I'd let things go, but this isn't the first time Gary at Budget screwed up. He gave me the wrong size truck and didn't own up to it until we called him out on it. When I look back now, it doesn't seem like an accident and I think I'm lucky I even received a truck and that it had 4 wheels. Most recently he called 15 hrs before our rental to say he wouldn't have a truck for us as he was overbooked. When my wife said we had a reservation and asked Gary what he would do to help resolve this, he said, "I ain't gonna do nothing". Now we're left trying to find a truck last minute and go figure, the rates the day of your move are quadruple. Do yourself a favor and pay the little extra and go with U-Haul or Penske and don't leave your moving day to Budget Truck Rental 24779 Lorain Road, North Olmsted, OH and Gary.
I made my reservation a week ago. Didn’t have the right vehicle. Changed the scheduled time of the rental, asked for information my insurance company has never heard of before, threatened to end the transaction because I told him I was going to contact corporate, then threatened me on the way out the door. News for you- budget does care about this situation and is going to make it right.
Rented a truck to move to Florida. It was a piece of junk. The cab and cargo area leaked the entire way! I had rain pouring down my back and my items were soaked when I arrived. The check engine light was on the entire time, the truck did not want to take gas, and the gas it did take I averaged 6mpg. 30 minutes to fill at every stop and there were many. I would never suggest a budget truck again, uhaul has never done me wrong like this.
Took 16ft truck from Ohio to Texas. Avg 10mpg. Truck was comfortable with good AC. Tires were good. Top speed set about 77 but you don't need to go faster in that kind of truck anyway. Just beware of that limit when passing other trucks or you'll upset the four-wheeler behind you. LOL. It will teach you to have patience with the big-rigs.
Made the reservation and there were no trucks available. Matt at the north Olmsted location found one for me and had it ready surprisingly before my initial reserved pick up time. Great person to deal with. I'm still having an issue where my there was an error in the system and charged my card more then it's supposed to but I am in confidence that Matt will take care of this issue and make it right as he would for anyone. Reserved our moving truck one month in advance through this location. When we went to pick it up, they did not have our truck and made no effort to help us secure it. Avoid this location!
Very unhelpful and unaccommodating. I went with U-Haul and they were awesome. Would definitely recommend them instead.
