This location has the WORST "customer service" I have ever gotten from a business I was trying to work with for there service. Got a call a few hours before my husband and I were to pick it up telling us they did not have the 12 foot truck we reserved but they had a 16 foot one we could take for the same price. We tried to change the reservation for the next day, but if we did we wouldn't get the promo price we got at the time the reservation was originally made. They then had a 12 foot truck returned so we could take that one. My husband was driving the truck back home from this location. While on the way, he noticed that the driver's side mirror was very loose and would not stay in place yes they sent us on our way with the mirror like that. We were told, again, that they didn't have any other 12 foot trucks. We even asked if they could just fix it, but they said they didn't have anyone there that could fix it. They did not offer another truck, a refund, or any other helpful solutions. They even said they wouldn't have anything available for they next day. We just told them that we just wanted to cancel the reservation and be done with it all. I called the corporate customer service, but they said they could only refund a small portion of what we were charged and the rest we would have to dispute with the location. This was a nightmare experience and I would definitely discourage anyone from ever using this location.
Avoid this location and Budget truck rental at all costs. Made a reservation 2 weeks in advance. Showed up to pick up our truck on 7/28/2018 and was told they didn't have any trucks for us or anyone else that day. Couldn't explain why we didn't receive a call the day before so we could attempt to make alternative plans. We would have been charged a $50 cancellation fee if we would have cancelled our reservation within 48 hours, however all they could do was say sorry and tell us to call Budget customer service if we had a complaint. They blamed Budget, budget blamed this franchised location...no accountability, terrible business.
Melinda was incredibly accommodating despite a major disconnect between the online rental service provided by the corporation and individual stores I had this issue last time I used a Budget store in another city that wound up with my making a reservation online for a store that was closing for good the week before were set to move! Luckily we happened to move up our date which averted the major crisis of showing up to a closed store the day of our move across the state. I'm really unimpressed with Budget's policies and overall customer service after my experience today, but Melinda really went out of her way to provide the best service she could and I hope she doesn't catch any flack for what was out of her control today; her coworker, far less accommodating, seemed very upset with her efforts to help me.
I was a little hesitant to rent from this location given the previous negative reviews, so we went in a day ahead of time to confirm our rental. Our customer service rep was super helpful and streamlined the process! He even helped us make sure our hitch was secure! Only downside is that their operating hours are quite reduced, as they are closed by 12pm-1pm most days.
Everything was good with this truck, but the ac didn't work moving from SC to Washington, I would rent from them again. Price was a lot cheaper than uhaul by far!!
We were worried about renting a truck here after reading some of the reviews. I am glad we went with our gut instinct and tried anyway. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. It is clear that the business is struggling to keep enough cars and trucks but they are up front and honest about what they have. I highly suggest this place. Just give them a call a few days before to double check your reservation.
Horrible customer service. They didn't have the size truck we reserved. And said we couldn't downgrade. We said we would just change it to tomorrow. Nope, they can't do that either. Not that they don't have a truck available. They just don't feel like it. Totally unprofessional attitude, like we were bothering him by trying to rent a truck. At a truck rental office!!??? Wasted 2 hours of our time and walked out with nothing. Made reservations with uhual for the next day and everything went smoothly.
I realize it's cliche to say " I would give 0 or negative stars if I could", but I guess there really is no better description of my feelings towards Budget right now. Go with Penske, Uhaul, or someone local for your tuck rental needs. I had scheduled a single day in town truck rental, and the night before my scheduled pickup, Ben from this location called and left a message saying that the truck I reserved was not available. He did not offer any information as to whether another size of truck was available, and did not give any indication that help would be offered in trying to arrange a rental truck from another one of Budget's locations. I called back 5 minutes after the message was left, but apparently the call was strategically placed after business hours so that I could try their number again and again in a futile panic. Instead of spending the only day my fiancee and I were free to move fighting with Budget to try and obtain a truck, I called Penske and they thankfully arranged a truck rental. However, the reservation was about double the price due to its last-minute nature. Thanks Budget.
Absolute worst customer service. The owner flat out lied about his rentals. He was even rude and disrespectful to four Army soldiers, wanting to charge them $250 because there was bugs on their front bumper. They took it to the car wash and came back. All in all, this place is TERRIBLE! Do NOT USE THEM! Call Penske or Uhaul.
Absolutely worst customer service. Violated terms and agreement which specifically state "...will substitute equipment if none available...." . Overbooked reservations, now none available. Avoid this company/location. Left an email with corporate for contact information about industry practice and standards. In a business where reservations are crucial for planning a move, why would they overbook and not notify the customer about alternative possibilities?
