THEY CHARGED ME $75 for NOTHING!!!   “rent n ride llc” they are a franchise owner of this Budget truck location.  I showed up 30 minutes before closed a the of my schedule reservation, I was then told that I had to buy their insurance, even though my insurance covered rental trucks. After I challenged her on this, she said I had to call my Ins Co in front of her to verify. I was shocked, and told her that in 30 years of renting trucks from Budget, I have NEVER had to do such a thing! I only had to sign waiver of responsibility In the past.  So I gave in and called my insurance—but we got a msg saying their call center was closed, since it was a Sunday. Then she said she would have to charge me anyhow. I said “ok, I’ll pay and just take it up with customer service on Monday” to which she replied “ I don’t want to rent to you anymore” I said that’s fine, but you still have to.  She said no I don’t.  So I said, get your supervisor on the phone. After arguing about that for a while, she finally called him and then, after a five minute talk, he made up a story saying that they could not rent to me because “they have to do a 10 point inspection on every vehicle before they rent it out.”  And when I asked why they don’t just do that, he said the mechanics weren’t working that day.  Obviously a bunch of BS and just straight up lies. THEN they had the audacity to charge my card $75 for cancellation fee the next day *WITHOUT TELLING ME* after THEY canceled my reservation and left me stranded.  -100 stars. these people need to be SHUT DOWN!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY  I don’t normally write reviews but this was a horrible experience. Got quoted for $580 but when I went in to pick up the truck they charged me an extra $200 for the “mandatory insurance” and $25 per day because I’m under 25 for 4 days even though I’d only be using the car for 1 day. By the time I got the truck it costed me just over 900 dollars. Had I known the final cost prior I would’ve gone with another company. Anyway I get about 10 miles down the road and the tire pressure light comes on. Pulled over and paid to fill all the tires but the light persisted. Drove for another couple hours and the maintenance light appeared. When I finally got to my location I found out the side door was jammed. Just turned in the truck and now I’m just waiting for them to hit me with some more charges.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This place is a scam and the so called owner, Joe, if that’s even his real name is a scammer and is a fraud. I can’t believe they even call themselves a business. I reserved a truck more than a week in advance to use to move. “Joe” called me the day of my reservation stating that they didn’t have the truck I reserved and that they could only give me something smaller. I said I would come in and see if it would work. It didn’t. The truck they offered was smaller and MORE expensive. He wouldn’t honor my original reservation and did NOTHING to help remedy the situation. He had other trucks and rental cars on the lot that he could have offered to solved the problem but instead when I suggested these options he said “there is nothing I can do”. It’s pointless trying to negotiate and do business with scammers. I requested a total cancellation and asked for a signed receipt reflecting no charge. They said they couldn’t print a receipt. What business doesn’t have a printer?! He wrote me a hand written receipt and still did not honor my cancellation. I received a $75 “no show” charge which I disputed with my credit card company.  DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE. They are well versed SCAMMERS.

The experience I had at this location vastly differed from other reviewer posts. We rented a one way cargo van from them and from the beginning, they were very accommodating to both my mom and I. Van was clean, comfortable and topped off, exactly what we reserved. We had an extra charge that was immediately refunded once notified. ALL staff members were friendly and super patient with us. A+ and Thank You!

Where do i start? Well first off this has to be the most unprofessional, incompetent business i have ever dealt with hands down. The funny thing is even with an ownership change the horrible service is the one consistent about this location.  Placing a reservation online is somehow not a sure thing about 75 percent of the time. I rent trucks for my side business about once a month on average and i cant count how many times this location has lost me money by not having the truck i reserved nor calling and letting me know in advance. They will however charge me $50.00 for not picking up a truck that probably was not even there. No phone call to let me know ahead of time costing me thousands of dollars in losses. The rude attitude by the couple there makes it worse, speaking in whatever language to each other plotting a way to screw me over and over again. Today it has reached the point of leaving this review Which i never do. PLEASE ONLY USE THIS LOCATION AS A LAST RESORT THEY WILL OVER CHARGE YOU AND MORE THAN LIKELY NOT HONOR YOUR RESERVATION. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL PEOPLE I PROMISE YOU WONT REGRET IT!

Another Budget Truck Rental completely dropped the ball with my moving truck. I attempted to call this place as it was the next closest location; however, I was placed on hold for over 20 minutes. I decided just to go in person because I was desperate. When I got there I had to wait for the one employee to finish helping a customer only to be told that all the trucks that they had on their lost, and there were many, had to be reserved for their business customers in case they needed them. I explained that another budget location drop the ball and they did not seem to care.

This is a ZERO STAR review!  They called the night before just minutes before closing to say there will be no truck for us to pick up in the morning. This happened to my fiancé's cousin 5 months before!!  Same exact issue!!! They tried to charge us $50 to cancel the order!!  We will be contacting the BBB about this and make sure they close this location or rearrange the management. We didn't have to pay the $50 so don't let them bully you about it. We luckily, and I use luckily reluctantly, called Uhaul and had to rent a pick up and a cargo van instead of our intended 16' van.  STEER CLEAR OF THIS LOCATION!!!!!

I reserved a truck 11 days in advance and on the 10 day they called me to tell me they do not have that size truck. When I called customer service they said they would call back in two hours, trying to find a truck for me. I called them back after three hours and they set me up for a truck in three days, at the Costa Mesa center. They called me the next day to tell me they do not have any trucks at their location either. At the end I called U Haul and set up a truck rental. Budget cost me over $50 in extra storage fees because they are incompetent, including their fleet managers to satisfy this error that is inexcusable and unprofessional.  J R E Ph.D.,D.M.,D.D.

Bad service. The truck we rented wasn’t available. We then were “upgraded” to a bigger truck. Which was not covered under our insurance. We were also unaware that we needed to provide proof of insurance when we got there. Very inconvenient for a one day rental that took over an hour to pick up.

I had such a great experience with budget truck rental that I will never rent with U-haul again. Employees were amazing! Truck drove easily- thru traffic and everything- it was a very reliable moving vehicle. Thank you awesome people.
