DR TORO
Dr. Daniela Toro attended Boston University School of Dental Medicine and obtained her Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, a Master in Sciences in Dentistry, and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree with high honors. Dr. Toro is originally from Caracas, Venezuela, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and was valedictorian from the Santa Maria University in 2006. During her orthodontic residency, Dr. Toro trained under the watchful eye of Dr. Fertman.
Dr. Toro held the position of Clinical Instructor in the Orthodontic Department of the Boston University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Toro is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. She has published several scientific articles on orthodontics and presented her research at professional meetings.
Outside of the office she enjoys running with her husband, Cesar. They finished the 2013 Miami Marathon and the 2012 Boston Half Marathon. She also loves outdoor activities of all sorts, spending time with her daughter Sofia, and her large extended family.
DR. FERTMAN
Dr. Arthur Fertman attended Cornell University and holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School, and Boston University School of Graduate Dentistry. He also matriculated from P.S. 238, Seth Lowe Jr. High, and Forest Hills High School in case you’re interested.
Originally from New York and a Brooklyn Dodgers fan as a child, he successfully shed his misplaced loyalty and his Brooklyn accent when he moved to Boston, and has long considered himself a New Englander and a Red Sox fan. Dr. Fertman served as a dentist in the Air Force in Iceland and New Jersey where he attained the rank of Captain. His orthodontic practice is informally known as the “Fertman Correctional Institution for Teeth”. He currently teaches at the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics as a clinical instructor and lecturer. Dr. Fertman juggles and rides a unicycle, but has been advised to keep his day job.
