I would give it a 5 but my dad is buried there in the Veterans garden. Someone at the cemetery with a backhosp? or something ran into the bench that belongs to Daddy and split it down the middle and then tried to cover it up, and one of the legs was turned sideways..I keep calling the office to talk with the manager and he will not return my calls because he doesn't want to be responsible for what happened. So, please, don't use this cemetery. They have TERRIBLE service if something goes wrong. They do not want to accept what needs to be done. I am going to continue to call or go to the office until I get some answers and something done about this!! PLEASE FIND A BETTER CEMETARY TO BURY YOUR LOVED ONES. Rose Hill is better.
I've waited to post a review due to others ratings. Initially informed of mixed reviews when deciding on a cemetery for my husband. Went with this location for the serene environment since I knew I'd be visiting often. They have kept to their promises of improving the roads which understandably deteriorate with our snow/salt in winter and lawn care kept up. They kept in contact with me about the headstone design and have always been polite to our family. In regards to contracts, we had two quotes since finances were in the air. As long as we read carefully and didn't rush ourselves there was no confusion take your time, do not feel pressured. *There are a couple things pending to include in my review and will update at a later time.
Customer service is not good…. They need new management for sure. Can’t give us any information about the marker we ordered for my father 4 months ago…
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This place is completely awful. Do not go here! We have been riddled with problems. 1st. The roads are not maintained well. They are littered with large pot holes. 2nd. My grandparents prepaid for their plots. My grandfather passed away in April of 2021. His gravestone is still not on his grave. The first time we came back to visit the grave we didn't see the headstone and thought we were lost. We stopped into the office to get help finding it, and the woman at the front desk looked it up and tried to send us to the completely wrong section of the cemetery. When I said that was not where he was buried, she said that is what the computer says and was very dismissive. I had to get out pictures from the funeral service to show her we were by the flags for her to look at the computer again. Everytime we inquired about the gravestone they said that it hadn't arrived yet. This most recent time the woman in the front office made a big show of searching everywhere for the stone. I asked them who I needed to contact to find out where it was. They said I needed to contact the VA, and that they were unable to contact the VA directly. I called the VA, and found out that the headstone was delivered the first week of June 2021. The VA also said that they can most certainly talk to the cemetery and if there is an issue that is the people who they will need to talk to inorder to fix the problem. After talking to the VA I called the cemetary back and they admitted they had the stone, but said they couldn't install it because they had no concrete. They then promised to have it installed the next day, and promised to send me a picture to verify that it was installed. At the end of the day I called the cemetery to see what was going on, and was told that I had to call back tomorrow. There was only one person who could see if the gravestone was installed. I don't know maybe that is true but it is completely frustrating and unbelievable after all the running around we have done, when they have had the stone for 9 months.
My baby daughter's head stone was overgrown and I had to clean a bunch of dirt off of it. They do not take proper care of the grave stones. I spent a lot of money on her flowers and they have been stolen. I went to the Sheriffs office and was told they receive many complaints about people stealing flowers and unkept head stones at this cemetery. They refuse to set up a video camera despite these complaints and heartbreaks. It is very sad and I'm highly disappointed .
The people running this place are liars and theives. My mom overpaid 400.00 and have been trying to collect it for over 2 years. They will not give us the name and number of the management over this office. Horrible place
If you get one thing from this review, I hope that is you will never give this crooked, manipulative, careless and disappointing company another minute of your time. This cemetery has been nothing but difficult to work with. I would never recommend this place to anyone. My grandparents have been residents of the area for decades and I am appalled at the lack of professionalism and carelessness they have exhibited to my grandmother and my family. My grandparents have had their plot paid in full for quite some time and my grandfather passed away back in late October. For all those considering Butler County Memorial Park, please read on. If you plan to bury a loved one here... anticipate constant phone calls and office visits with little to no response with severe lack of customer service. If this alone has not deterred you from giving your hard earned money here, please note, your plaque will not arrive at their expected date and I can promise you they will not install said plaque until at least 6 months after the burial. Even if paid in full! They will absolutely charge you for hidden fees and change rates for any installation you seek. Considering buying a bench or headstone from an outside company? This "organization" promises to make it the most difficult process you've ever been through and charge astronomical fees even for just a slab of concrete. And no doubt they'll find a way to make sure that slab of concrete that costs just as much as much as 2 months' car payments, take at least 6-10 months to install after ordered and they have YOUR money in hand. Please consider all your options, as this option has caused my family nothing but distress.
The manner in which this cemetery is maintained is disgraceful. Quite possibly the worst maintained and least aesthetically pleasing cemetery in the area. Everytime I've been here the grass is very high and in desperate need of being mowed. Most of the headstones are flat, which makes proper grass length even more important. Unfortunately my grandparents chose to be buried here. The following is a note to management. Instead of posting the same old generic response to this review, please go out and mow the grounds, fix the pot holes and actually address the concerns that are leading to these negative reviews.
A little over 7 years ago we buried my mom here and 3 years later my dad. I must say that our experience was very good. My parents had their plots paid for already, but everything else we handled through the funeral home, except for the bench that was placed on their graves, this had to be ordered, however they handled this really well. There was a slight delay in getting it put on the gravesite, but it was weather related. People need to understand that headstones and monuments and such most of the time are special ordered, therefore they take time to get in. Also, the weather can affect how and when things can be placed. My wife and I plan on being buried here, and I find no reason not to deal with them. I say if you have family buried here and are considering making plans to be buried here yourself, you should at least go and talk with them and see for yourself. Remember it only takes a few bad apples to spoil the whole crop.
My husband and I purchased plots at Butler County Memorial Park over 35 years ago. In 1986, our baby girl passed away, and because of our purchase contract, a plot, vault, and marker were all provided for her. Several years later, when visiting her grave we found the cemetery in terrible conditions. The grass was not cut, the trees on the property were diseased and needed to come down, and the roads through the property were full of potholes and cracks. My husband and I even did a segment on a local TV station, exposing the issues. After that, things got some better, but it didn't appear to last. Thankfully, the property was finally sold to the present owners. My husband passed away suddenly in December 2017, and I must say that Amanda and the entire crew at Butler County Memorial have been nothing but caring and compassionate. He was buried with full military honors, and the ceremony was beautiful. I am pleased that he and my little baby girl are resting in a lovely setting, in the Field of Honor, and that I can visit anytime. Butler County Memorial Park has done a fantastic job of turning around this gorgeous setting, out in the country, but close to Hamilton, Oxford, Trenton, and Middletown.
