Cake Ann

I used Cake Ann for my wedding June 3, 2023 and while the wedding cake tasted great I was literally in disbelief with what they delivered... The pictures of the blank cake with the cake topper is what was delivered and the other picture is what I asked for. Super disappointed and I didn't see it until they brought it out for us to cut. Still had a great night but it just was nothing like what I asked for and honestly looked incomplete even if it was just a plain cake, there were spots where you could see the cake underneath the icing. Overall, wouldn't use them again. We paid over $700 for this cake to be totally blank and incomplete. Thank god it was the correct flavors, which is the only reason I gave them one star. AND just another note - The cake tasting was something I had been looking forward to for basically my entire life and it was incredibly unorganized and disappointing. We just got pieces of left over cake from other parties and they didn't really put in any effort to making them look presentable. Should have known after that experience!!

Ordered 100 cupcakes and 100 whoopie pies for a June 2023 party. I asked for something that would match the black and gold theme of the party. The cupcakes were fine - vanilla cake with chocolate frosting on par in size/quality with something you could get at a supermarket bakery. The whoopie pies were so, so dry. Someone at the party actually said, “these taste like they were made two days ago.” We ended up throwing out most of the whoopie pies because we had tons left over and no one wanted to take them home. Back to the desserts matching the theme: I was told in advance that a glitter pump would be used to “incorporate gold all around the whoopie pies” and I’m not sure what I expected - but not this. Just white sprinkles and some gold balls you couldn’t see. I was disappointed with the results. I would probably choose a different bakery next time.

We got both of my kids birthday cakes from Cake Ann this year! My son got a dinosaur marble cake for his first birthday their marble is alternating layers of vanilla and chocolate, forgot to take a picture of it! and everyone at his party was commenting on how delicious it was. For our daughters 4th birthday she wanted a unicorn cake, we ended up getting a small cake and a dozen cupcakes instead of one big cake and it worked so well! My daughter requested strawberry cake and I don't know what I was expecting but cake ann knocked it out of the park it was SO GOOD. Once again everyone at the party was asking where we went and commenting on how good it was! We'll definitely be using cake ann again going forward!

Cake Ann is in a new location in downtown Gloucester but they are still making the best pastries etc in the area. In addition to all of the sweets, we really love their various quiches and their fabulous meat pies filled with locally made sausages. We were not meat pie lovers before but these are awesome!

I'm really not sure where to begin here. My now husband and I live in Colorado Springs and decided we wanted to have our wedding ceremony in Salem since we officially started dating there in October 2020. When we decided to travel to Salem for the wedding, I searched around for cake shoppes and stumbled upon Cake Ann. I cannot express how lucky I am to have found this gem! I was lucky enough to speak to Inga, the owner, and she was so easy to speak to and so kind throughout. During the discussion about what we wanted the cake to look like, I told her I wanted her to have as much create freedom as she wants and showed her our instagrams so she could get a glimpse into who we are. When we arrived to pick up the cake she immediately knew who we were and was so excited to show us the beauty she created. She is a creative genius! After our wedding ceremony and the cake cutting, we got to delve into the cake we all went silent. Why you ask?! Because the cake was SO DELICIOUS AND FLAVORFUL we were speechless. Inga, thank you for playing a critical part in our wedding festivities and helping us create new memories.

We had a birthday at the Azorean in Gloucester. Cake An Delivered a beautiful cake to the restaurant. Th beautiful decoration the taste of the filling and the frosting was amazing. If there is a way to give 10 stars I would. Highly recommend

Cake Ann was a great choice for our wedding! My husband and I moved from MA to CO a year before our wedding early COVID as well which made picking cake and desserts hard! Before we left Inga made us a box of desserts to take home to try. Her bakery is just incredible! Everything was so delicious and looked picture perfect. We came back to MA a few months before our wedding and Inga let us try some unique cakes. We wanted something really good but also really different. The cake was the only dessert i actually got to try on our wedding day so thank god it was good! Inga was just so sweet overall! Highly recommend.

This is my go to bake shop in Gloucester. Have enjoyed their cupcakes, muffins, croissants, and cookies. Their Easter fare was awesome and the staff is super friendly!

We had an amazing experience with Cake Ann and our wedding! First of all, Inga is amazing and so kind. She spent all the time needed with us at the cake tasting and later when we were deciding on the cake design. The cake came out beautifully! We got so many compliments and even a family member told me “I don’t even like cake or desserts in general, but that cake was amazing!!” It looked gorgeous as well. I am so glad we live in the area so we can go back and visit, so happy to have Cake Ann as our favorite local bakery and new beautiful location on the water too : Would recommend without reservation!
