I purchased 2 yards of fabric and was charged $10.00 for delivery. I questioned it at the time and was told that it was the store policy. I accepted that. At the time of purchase, I was told that the fabric was in stock and it was delivered a week later. I also purchased 2 curtain rods which were not included in the package with the fabric. I called the store and was told that they are separate orders and the curtain rods take 3 weeks. I called to cancel the curtain rods and the salesperson told me that I would receive a credit on my credit card. Ten minutes later the store manager called and said that the previous person was new and did not understand that things are not cancelable. The store manager was very rude and reamed me out for not knowing the store policy. She said that there is a sign in the store and it its also on the receipt. These are not custom made curtain rods, they are 2 simple rods costing $10.00 each. She also said that once you purchase from Calico Corners it is yours because they do not have any inventory and can not accept returns. “We are not a cash and carry store” she said. “They pay me for upholding store policy” was also one of her statements. I expect a credit for the 2 curtains rods becasue I don’t know when and if they will arrive, they don’t seem to know if they have been ordered or shipped. The sales person was very helpful, but the store manager lacked all manner of finess.
I was very happy with this store. The fabrics were amazing! I hadn't heard of Calico, but was told about this place when I was searching for a quality fabric to use for reupholstering my dining room chairs. It wasn't in proximity to my home, as a matter of fact, it was quite a drive, but was well worth it! Their selection was more than I anticipated and I finally decided on two fabrics. Before leaving the store, I was confident with one of the two and made the purchase. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that it was on sale also! Never having covered any furniture prior, I purchased more than enough and headed home. After my project was completed, I was proud of myself and thrilled with the outcome. The fabric was absolutely stunning! I highly recommend Calico in Wilmette!
If you plan to do business with Calico Corners in Wilmette, Illinois you will want to hear my story. I lost almost $500 at this store. Here’s my experience: In Sept 2018 I prepaid to have a sofa reupholstered. The reupholstered sofa was not made to original specifications as promised and had defective workmanship. I complained but Calico did not respond to my complaint untill 3 months later. Calico eventually agreed that reupholster job was completely unsatisfactory. Calico then offered the options of a sofa remake or a refund approximately $500 less than what I had paid. I wanted sofa remade as the original but the original sofa had been destroyed so it was impossible to replicate. Too bad said Calico and refused to refund the full purchase price. I learned the expensive way that Calico does not honor the guarantee displayed on its website.

I give it 1 because I can't give it 0. We paid extra for professional measurement, they messed it up and 2 months later it's still not fixed despite vacuous pledges. Throughout the process we've gotten hard sells and run arounds. Save your money and go to a big box store.
Nothing here but expensive over priced fabric ... help does nothing but talk with no knowledge of how to figure what you actually need .... and this location has zero supplies!!! What a wasted trip!
