I went over there in the Museum for the Site Trip of my History Class. When I went there the 5 gallery was closed for the constructional work. That's why I didn’t get chance to explore the whole Museum. The staff was good and friendly also.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Wonderful space, excellent staff. They are friendly and informative. The space hosts many free outside activities in addition to the installations. My family enjoys the Museum often.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entryFree
Amazing museum! No wait time, just walk in. At the time, I saw the Buffalo Soldier exhibit. Small, free museum.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entryFree
This place was a breath of fresh air! Most African-American Museum‘s tend to focus on slavery and civil rights and highlight the same five or 10 people. This museum shows other aspects of African-American culture. One of then-current exhibits focuses on the evolution of Cross Colors, starting from its creation by Marcus Garvey and then moving to its Influence not only in hip-hop culture but it’s infiltration into popular culture, most notably popularized by Bruno Mars. Also, the museum has a research library. I didn’t get a chance to look around, but I am guessing they probably have some great resources that offer additional insights into African-American culture and the African-American experience.
This is one of my favorite museums in LA. I love how this museum always changes their exhibitions so it always feels new and fresh. Their exhibitions are always cool, relevant and important.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
I gave it a four cuz it's not fully open as the galleries and other exhibitions are under construction - but the artwork viewable in the outside lobby is impressive though scant, as befits the free entrance. I took the picture of the faux flowers for my lovely daughter, Ashanti Kimani, who loves flowers of all iterations.Visited onWeekday
Saw the writer/director of Black Panther Ryan Coogler in a live interview here. The place was packed! It was an awesome experience. Such a great museum! I've also seen the world famous artist, the great Ernie Banks paintings in an exhibit.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entryFree

This was interesting to see & hear some of way the African-Americans were treated when they first were brought to America. There are many different feelings about happened to them. Some believe that everything was nice and happy all of the time!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
Free entrance. Excellent art galleries and historical exhibitions on the history of African American people in LA. Highly recommended. The space is really nice, they have kid activities. This museum deserves a visit if you are in Exposition Park.
