I absolutely love CCU! I am working on a Bachelor of Science in Business/Marketing and I am proud to say that I am a student at CCU. Now let me tell you why. I love to write, and a large part of my program involves writing essays, and I am totally charged by the challenges I am given by CCU to write. Also, I love the attention I receive from the CCU staff; Taylor is the bomb! I am so happy to be a part of CCU, and I can't wait to roll right into my MBA program next year. If you're looking for the best affordable, accredited, at your own pace, great professors and staff, higher learning institution, CCU is where's it's at! - Reggie/Detroit
I’m currently enrolled in the MBA program with a focus on HR management. Amazing program for a working adult with a family. I have learned a ton in this program and i can’t say enough about the price and the fact it’s paced. This is very doable! CCU has made it easy !
I earned my Psychology degree at California Coast University. While the curriculum was rigorous, I felt supported by the faculty and staff at every step in the process. My questions were always answered promptly and in detail.
I have been enrolled in a doctorate program at California Coast for over a year. This is the best educational experience I have ever had, and I have 4 other graduate degrees. I work and I have several children under age 10, this is completely doable with a busy schedule. I love learning at my own pace with no busy work. No. Busy. Work. My last doctorate degree required multiple weekly forum posts that took 10 hours per week and gave no benefit, in addition to papers and exams. With California Coast, none of my time is wasted. The textbook choices are thoughtful and the exams are well-crafted. I have learned so much and I am enjoying it. The professors provide honest, constructive feedback. It is a phenomenal price, especially if your employer will setup a corporate partnership, and the monthly payments are very doable. I have already recommended California Coast to several colleagues and family members.
Great school for someone that has to juggle a full time job and school. I graduated with a bachelors degree in 2014 and it's opened more opportunities for me. Nowadays employers just want a bachelors degree no matter what the field is because to them it proves that you're willing to put in the time and effort to accomplish a greater goal. Having my bachelors degree from CCU has boosted my confidence and career salary by $15,000. Everything is self study at your own pace which I really like as opposed to a quarter/semester system with traditional colleges. The professors are helpful should you have questions and tuition/books are really affordable. If you take shortcuts learning in your education you have no one else to blame but yourself. A degree can get you the interview but it's your knowledge, experiences, and presentation that'll get you the job.
I am a 1980, CCU graduate, with a MBA degree. It took me 2 years to complete my degree. One year course work, one year for my thesis. I received my BS degree from the Univ. of Georgia, in Biological Sciences, 1971. All in all, I am glad I got my Masters degree from CCU, but the coursework, was not equivalent to getting an MBA, from a 4 yr accredited university. My thesis preparation & work was indeed tough & challenging. I spent 34 years in the pharmaceutical industry, the last 32 years with the same company. The industry experienced "Black Fridays" where you sat by the phone on a Friday, & waited to receive a call, whether you had a job or not. I went through two of these harrowing events. Both times I was kept. The last time I was kept & actually promoted. It was at these times that my MBA paid off. My colleagues of equal tenure & service time, would be released while I was fortunate enough to stay. I'm firmly convinced it was b/c I had a graduate degree, while they didn't. I am glad to see that CCU has gone on to be accredited by many different organizations. This adds validity to their degree programs. I retired at 56, financially secure for life, & in part, CCU played a role in my career. Hence the 3 star rating.
Because of work schedule commitments, there was no way to continue my education in the traditional brick & mortar classroom environment. I have been a student online for my Associates Degree at Kaplan University, my Bachelor's at Baker College and most recently for my MBA at CCU. Every program has it strengths, but I appreciate the ability to drive my education largely at my own pace allowing me to timely finish classes when it fits into my schedule. As an MBA graduate and now a Doctoral student at CCU, I would never continue my education at this level at a school I did not have 100% confidence in. The professors are fast with grading and question response, as well is the staff. They are always willing to do their utmost to help or assist a student. Many times they go above and beyond what one would expect. For potential students, you really must evaluate if online learning is for you, if you need teachers and students to fuel your motivation level, ANY online college may not be for you; but if you can motivate yourself and know online learning is for you, don't hesitate! I am a veteran and there has never been an issue with their benefits for veterans, take advantage of what you have earned. Busy adults with full-time jobs, you can do it too, you decide what, where, and when you can complete the work, especially if you know the pain of having to participate in a chatroom at a specific time, not here; you are in control of your destiny, as education should be! CCU is one of the most affordable accredited colleges I have researched, and I did a lot before deciding to go back to school...again. If you have any questions, ask them, the staff are excellent and leave nothing to chance, this University has done nothing more than expanded my career options, knowledge base and prospects. If you want a degree, you should go and get it! Don't be fooled though, online learning can be harder than traditional learning and it may take you a little time to get used to it, but don't suffer needlessly, call the school, ask for assistance, see what they can offer and work with you on. Too many people complain they feel alone in their education, but nothing could be further from the truth, they are letting you be responsible for your education!
I completed bachelors and masters degrees at University of Toronto and also began my doctorate there. Due to work and family commitments, I was unable to continue. Many years later, I decided to complete my doctorate, searching for an on-line option. I was happy to find CCU and determined they had the necessary staff and quality of program. I completed my EdD there in 2012. Doing a doctorate by distance is no joke. Since I did not have local support, it was all on me and my advisor to get it done. The dissertation was difficult but there was plenty of support from CCU. I found it equivalent to doing doctoral work at U of T.
California Coast University has given me the flexibility to achieve my dreams and goals. I’m in the Bachelor of Science in Management BS degree program. Everyone is super helpful & encouraging. They want me to succeed.
Outstanding Experience. I am the spouse of a veteran, the staff in charge of VA benefits are AWSOME! Every month my benefits were deposited without any issues or delays. The small Staff and Remote Teachers as compared to other colleges allow the Tuition to be more than affordable. My advice is NOT to pay the Minimum $100 per month because at the end of the program you can Not get your degree untill All tuition has been paid. With the "edu" Student Email Amazon Prime is discounted. There is also a Honor Society, with benefits.
