California Rare Book School is a continuing education program dedicated to providing the requisite knowledge and skills for professionals working in all aspects of the rare book community, and for students interested in entering the field. CalRBS offers week-long courses covering a broad range of topics. Students at CalRBS benefit from an expert faculty and the wealth of special collections of rare books, manuscripts and archival materials in the Los Angeles area.
Founded in 2005, CalRBS is a project of the Department of Information Studies in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies (GSE&IS) at UCLA. CalRBS is supported by an informal consortium of many of the academic and research libraries and antiquarian booksellers of Southern California.
