James Monroe High School is a high school in the North Hills area of Los Angeles, California, belonging to the Los Angeles Unified School District. The school is located at 9229 Haskell Avenue, North Hills, CA 91343. It is home to Small Learning Communities and two magnet schools. The school's mascot is the Viking.HistoryMonroe High opened in the fall of 1958.The school selected the team name Vikings after a movie of the same name starring Tony Curtis. The Multipurpose room was named Odin's Hall.
