California Surf Museum features surfing history, tech changes, geographical specifics. You can see how people surfed long ago, how 1940s changed the surfing concept, where we are now. I was impressed to see 4.5 lbs board and 155 lbs board almost by each other side. It is great to learn what is behind surfing culture, lifestyle and contests. The California Surf Museum has a nice shop. I wish now I left more money there.
What a joy to discover this museum! They say you should explore an industry you know nothing about to stretch your mind. This museum certainly did that. We learned about wave action, history/design of surf boards. Finally, saw displays about great surfers....and learned Oceanside has a a woman teenager who could become the national champion.
I love the old surfboards and the stories accompanying the creators of the sport. The museum is always amazing and I come here every couple of years just to see what is new.

Just pointless. Incoherent displays. Needs so much work to make it interesting. Save your $7 entry fee.
We went to the Surf Museum recently and had a fun time. The employees were so nice and quite enthusiastic about surfing. It was so much fun to see the early surfboards and learn about the original shapers. Nice section on Bethany Hamilton and her earliest days surfing
This place is a must see! Epic surf history and the staff is amazing so glad I stopped here and took the time to see the history. One of the oldest surfboards known. Only $5 to get in and great for all ages.
