CAMP is a federally funded program designed to help students from migrant and seasonal farm worker backgrounds succeed at ASU.
The College Assistance Migrant Program at Adams State University (C.A.M.P. @ ASU) is federally funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Migrant Education. C.A.M.P. @ ASU is excited to welcome it's fourth cohort for this upcoming 2017-18 academic year. C.A.M.P. @ ASU provides services, access, and resources in the areas of academic guidance, career planning and development, intellectual and cultural enrichment, as well as financial assistance based on individual need.
Excelencia in Education has this to say about the importance of College Assistance Migrant Programs:
“Education is not always accessible. Those motivated enough to work in the fields are driven by their desire to provide for their families and hope for a better future. The program’s impact helps increase migrant student college success and their families’ likelihood of social mobility from the fields into the ‘skilled workforce’.”
The program's goal is to provide academic, social, and financial support services to migrant and seasonal farm workers or their dependents, to assist them in the successful completion of their first year of college and persistence toward degree attainment.
