I brought my dogs to Camp Bow Wow for already several years and they always feed them the food I had pre packed for each dog twice a day and today when I went to pick them up they returned most of the food. They only feed them once a day. I also observed that the rest of the dogs were out, but our dogs were stuck in room suite. I asked why my dogs were in the suite? She told me “they must have forgotten. “. How can you forget when you can see them on the camera of their suite from the front desk? It seems like no one cares. My dogs didn’t even have water in their room being there for hours. They also lost the bowls of one of the dog’s.
The day of the interview/daycare was very chaotic with apparent short staffing and I was given little feedback about my dog’s english bulldog day. The next day he was boarded for 3 nights and little to no info was provided to me as far as expectations, the agenda, what is needed or recommended from me or him. The day of pick up, he was again exhausted and overheated. He smelled like urine and was filthy. I took him to the vet the same day because he was having trouble breathing and was shivering. He lost 5 pounds after 3 days of boarding. I was not given any feedback about his stay, or his behavior while boarding. He was simply handed to me with an empty food bag and asked to pay the bill. Not to mention he also didn’t receive the bath I requested with his boarding. I can’t even get them to answer the phone.There seems to be a lack of organization among other things at this facility and I would not recommend it.
I used Camp BowBow a few years ago to board my Yorkie, and decided to read the negative reviews to see if anything had changed for the better. Sadly, nothing has changed. I don’t know why they haven’t been closed down!!!!! Per your response…I stated a “few years ago,” so you may not have been there then, however the recent complaints on your site of deaths, dog fights, lack of concern and injuries to numerous pets indicate that nothing had changed.
Staff are always so nice. Great environment and I’m always at ease when I leave my dog for day camp or boarding. Would definitely recommend!
I very sadly would never ever recommend Camp Bow Wow to anyone who has a dog that they deeply love and care about. Here’s why. My parents had a dog named Ellie since 2010. It was always a nightmare to find a place to board her when they went out of town, but this year, they heard about Camp Bow Wow and they boarded her there. They had several really good experiences with boarding Ellie there - But then September happened. They boarded Ellie again while they went out of town for the weekend. On September 19th, they returned home and went to pick her up. Someone carried Ellie out and handed her to my dad. It was very clear that something was wrong. She wasn’t responding and her head was hanging limply down. But that staff member did not even acknowledge that something was wrong. She just handed Ellie to my dad and walked away. When they got Ellie out to the car, she stretched out on my dad’s lap, yelped once and started foaming from the nose. They rushed her back inside to see if anyone knew if something had happened while she was boarded there, but everyone said that she’d been fine. They offered to call a vet but my parents decided they would rush her to Ellie’s vet. Ellie died on the way there. Now, I do not believe that Camp Bow Wow is responsible for her death. I truly hope they had nothing to do with it. She was an older dog and her time was coming. My problem here is the lack of compassion and sympathy on the part of the management. My parents had to call two companies Chewy and Pet Honesty to stop subscriptions for Ellie’s medicines. Both of these companies gave them full refunds for medicines and food that had already been mailed and both of them sent my parents a plant in honor of Ellie. Camp Bow Wow did nothing. No kind gesture. No refund. Not even a partial refund. A pet becomes a family member. And Ellie was part of our family for 12 years and any business who is involved in the lives of our pets should be sensitive to that and aware that the loss of a pet is a deep and devastating loss. And I was disappointed that Camp Bow Wow did nothing to show any honor to Ellie at all or any kindness/compassion to my parents. **my response to your reply - thank you so much for reaching out so quickly. Unfortunately, I showed your reply to my parents and they told me that y’all paying for a necropsy was never offered to them. A refund was never offered either. Please let me know what steps you’d be able to take to get them a refund as soon as possible. Thank you.
User Erin Neeley Love Camp Bow Wow!!! Rosie my Golden Retriever jumps in the car and wags her tail when we pull up to the building- it’s fun to watch her socialize and play with other dogs on the doggie cam! Fantastic idea for all dogs- excellent staff, courteous, friendly and knowledgeable about taking care of your pup for the day or even overnights- so happy we found this wonderful place and gave it a try - Rosie is a regular now
I am really upset!! I took my dogs there on Wednesday to get groomed and they messed up on the groomers schedule so my dogs were there all day. They said come back today to get them groomed and they wouldn’t allow them to get groomed because the rabies tag expired. They should have told us that on Wednesday. Never coming back
