Southern Arizona's "Sky Island" Camp for the Boy Scouts of America, Camp Lawton is located on Mt. Lemmon, in the Catalina mountains, about 60 minutes from Tucson, where mountain biking and hiking trails are abundant throughout the pine trees. In the summer it is generally 20 degrees cooler than Tucson and in the winter it is located just 9 miles below Ski Valley. Many improvements have been ongoing at Camp Lawton. Improvements include the dining hall, trading post, "Tucker Tents", staff cabins, pool, campsites, archery range, air rifle range, campfire bowl and new High Adventure activities. Since 1921 Camp Lawton has been a place to teach boys and girls new skills promoting service, community engagement, and leadership development. Today, it is easily one of the best camps in the nation for amenities and programs provided.
