Camp Tahquitz is the premier Boy Scout Summer Camp for scouts wanting to experience high adventure, earn merit badges, and explore outdoor activities from the traditional to the extreme.
Owned and operated by the Long Beach Area Council since 1959, the camp is one square mile (640 acres) of pristine forest land in the Barton Flats area of the San Bernardino Mountains about 30 minutes south of Big Bear Lake and less than three hours from most cities in Southern California.
Staffed by Honor Scouts from the Tribe of Tahquitz and experienced scouting professionals, Camp Tahquitz is the place where memories are made that last a lifetime. In addition to traditional merit badge courses, camp activities include — archery, rifle shooting, rowing; canoeing, backpacking, climbing & rappelling, nature studies, horseback riding and camp craft, just to name a few.
Camp Tahquitz mission is to provide the highest quality Boy Scout Summer Camp experience for youth and leaders in the Long Beach Area Council and beyond.
