Camp Towanda is an independent, traditional, co-ed sleep-away camp nestled in the Northeast Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. At Camp Towanda, we provide a well-rounded experience for our campers and staff in a nurturing, safe environment.
Camp Towanda is a special place, filled with tons of energy, friendships, fun and activities. In addition to our excellent and professional athletic department, waterfront, extensive arts, drama and outdoor adventure programs, as well as very creative evening activities and special events, we focus on providing the life skills and tools to help build the foundation of who your child will become.
Our camp is traditional, spirited, instructional, well-rounded, warm, very personable, highly supervised, safe and fun!
The camper-to-counselor ratio at camp is 4:1. The campers, staff and families we attract are down-to-earth, friendly and caring. As parents and camp owners, we are involved with each camper and the entire program. Our reputation is best described as “ultra hands-on”. Our camp is for all levels of abilities and interests. Overall, it is a great place!

We attract down-to-earth, friendly and spirited campers, families and staff. Our camp is for all levels of abilities and interests. There are an equal number of boys and girls, with campers coming from many states and several countries. Our camper-to-counselor ratio is higher than 4:1!
Camp Towanda's cabin staff is made up of staff from around the world including former campers and college students from over 25 states and 25 countries. Our Senior Staff are parents, schoolteachers, and coaches. Our activity specialists are qualified instructors; coaches who focus on skill development at all levels and provide the opportunity to utilize those skills (and feel good about it).
Our campers range from entering 2nd grade to high school. We offer a full 7-week season experience and provide guidance every step of the way for first time parents. We can make special arrangements for our youngest, first year campers.
Our camp family is connected throughout the year with reunions, sleepovers, special trips, the internet, newsletters and so much more!
