This is our second time camping here. First time back in 2017. Both times, we got the same tent site, T7. We love it. T7 is secluded and out of the way from everything else. It’s like you have your own section of the grounds. It’s a short 60 second walk to the bathrooms and the overlook. The staff is friendly and the place is well kept. We will definitely be returning in the future.
If you like quieter campgrounds with friendly, helpful staff, spectacular views and quick access to everything this is it! We stayed here for a week on a premium site with views of the valley. Sunsets are amazing and you can gather with fellow campers at the overlook to watch the sky change, it’s truly magical. The staff here is kind and helpful; we enjoyed connecting with each of them during our stay. We really enjoyed our visit and are eager to come back!
Campground is located at the top of a mountain accessible by a gravel road. The premium sites have awesome views. We stayed in a deluxe site which was also nice. The camp staff here are very friendly. Will definitely stay here again.
We are a family of 4 at the tail end of a year long RV trip across the county, so we’ve seen the good, the bad and the ugly. You will LOVE this place If not for the scenery, it will be for the people running it. Jason is THE MAN!! He greets the guests with a warm smile, gave our boys glow sticks one night as we played on the field, and knows the ins and outs of living and having fun up here in the mountains. Really good local place. Any spot is good - because you can walk to the view and sit on the Adirondacks, so don’t stress if you don’t get a “premium site.” We didn’t and also didn’t mind. 5 stars, highly Nearby activities: AVL!!
We stayed at this peaceful campground for a week. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxing place look no further. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Great paths for walking and an amazing lookout to the mountains. Will be coming back as soon as we can!Service: 5/5
The views! The sunsets!!! So good. We stayed 4 nights. Every interaction with the staff was pleasant. Be ready for a climb up the road, but it stays wide and clear overhead the whole time. View is 5 star. Bath house is a 3. Sites are 4. We enjoyed our stay. 10 minutes to downtown. 15 to arts district. 20 to Biltmore. 25 to Sierra Nevada brewery a must-visit beer Disney as one local called it. This is a great location to do Asheville.
We stayed two nights at a tent location, and it was perfect! Jason was pleasant and helpful, and any assistance or firewood was brought to the site quickly upon request. The bathroom facilities were clean and private. The campground itself provided an excellent view of the mountains, and the sunset was extraordinarily. Our camp area was spacious and exactly as advertised. I look forward to camping here again!
This campground is all about the view. The premium sites have a gorgeous view, and there is a place for everyone to enjoy the sunset together. RV site are very close. Bathrooms need attention, both for physical maintenance issues toilets have issues flushing and for cleaning and supplies out of toilet paper for 2 days?Rooms: 4/5
I have camped at Campfire Lodgings every year since 2012. I love this place. The location is ideal and the views are beautiful. Added to this is the excellent customer service provided by Jason and Marrisa. They make a great team! Jason goes above and beyond the call of duty to help me when I am setting up my camper and breaking camp. I can always count on him. I appreciate all that he does to enforce the rules and policies to ensure that everyone has an outstanding camping experience. Thank you Jason and Marrisa!
This place is a must stay, especially if you can get a spot on the premier or premium sites. We stayed on P4 and it was absolutely gorgeous. The sunset behind the mountains was so beautiful! Don't worry about the road going up to the campground. We drove our long bed dually and a 42 foot 5th wheel up it and had zero issues. Take your time and swing wide when needed.
