What a great campground this could be. We've been here 3 days and have yet to see anyone in office even though there are 2 sets of volunteers at gate. No pamphlets or maps of facility to assist in locating site. Restrooms not cleaned regularly. 2 out of 3 showers not working in the 2 restrooms we checked out. We utilize COE parks whenever possible because of price and spaciousness but will not be coming back to this one due to lack of upkeep.
We took the kids camping here last weekend this camping spot was one of the best that I've ever been to had a huge pavilion that we could use that had electricity definitely recommend camping here for sure. The lake as well as not very far from the camping spot and you can get to town and around 5 minutes so definitely recommend the spot.
Rented a shelter for this for august 4 and 5th of, august, parks was extremely clean and quiet, Restrooms needed updating showers where dim and really hot. Showers need new faucets.shelter 10 was semi nice but did have issues that could be easily fixed. Door was about to fall off, had to slam it hard to close it. Ceiling fan was there but didn't work. Small matters until i was over run with ants, after 1 night I left and missed out on second day I paid for. The place wasn't perfect but the people where really nice. Even with all these issues I do plan on returning, just next time I'll bring ant poison
Excellent place for vacation! Me and my Girlfriend have been here 3 times now over the last year and we absolutely love this place our go to place when Tent camping. Always find some cool fossils in the water as well which is always a bonus plus there is little fresh water crabs hiding under lots of the rocks In the water which I didn’t even know was a thing so very cool!
Takes a bit to get leveled here but great place. No trails but plenty of camping loops to explore if just for the views alone. Excellent At&t and Verizon service. 4 bars with each.
We love these campgrounds soooooo much!!! Oir family had the best time ever on Easter weekend! Beautiful grounds and not super quiet on the weekends because everyone was having a great time with their families through late hours of the night so you don't have to worry about disturbing the neighbors. It is so good to hear all the laughter and feel the great vibes at this site. Can't wait to go back in July!!!
Spent a couple of beautiful days at lofers bend west camping on the lake! The first day was really windy and a little bit chilly but I was able to get a spot in the trees which was a little bit more protected because the park wasn’t completely full that night. The next day I moved to another campground that my friends had reserved and the wind died down enough so that I could get out on the kayak. The water was still pretty rough but I was able to paddle all the way out to the island we’re all the birds are and it was amazing. The scenery was beautiful the cliffs were beautiful and the sunset was amazing. The next couple of days were not nearly as windy but the park was completely full because it was a weekend and the weather was so great. There were lots of kids around and the campground was very active but the noise was kept to a reasonable level and no one disrespected the rules by playing music too loud at night or anything like that which was very appreciated. One thing I would recommend is that it’s better to get a campsite within the trees instead of closer to the boat ramp because the spots by the boat ramp or not protected by trees and are completely out in the open to the wind if it’s windy. The campground was kept very clean and there were plenty of supplies in the bathrooms and trash cans around. I would definitely return to this camp campground it was a great value for the cost and beautiful views!
Absolutely love the place. First visit to Lake Whitney and this COE park. Only con was maintenance teams. 1st day mowed with small mowers for almost entire day. Next day mowed larger areas with and third day woke up to crews pressure washing tables and pads. Gate crew were delightful.
Our kids Tent camped here and the view was AMAZING!
This is my go-to campground when visiting near Waco. Dedicated staff encourage good camping etiquette, let's give them less to do, be responsible. Non-electric sites are spacious and more private than most of the powered sites, plumbing works and is cleaned often. Humans are just a small portion of inhabitants here, the permanent residents would appreciate respect for themselves and their home. Thank you ACOE.
