Candace K. Cochran, RN, BSN, MSN, NNP-BC, CCNS, attended The University of Texas Medical Branch School of Nursing in Galveston, Texas, where she was awarded her bachelor degree of science in nursing in 1985. She received her master degree of science in nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston School of Nursing in Houston, Texas. Candace is a Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist as well as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified. She is the recipient of the 2011 March of Dimes Perinatal Nursing Excellence Award and professional member of the Academy of Neonatal Nursing. She feels that she enjoys a successful career today because of her passion for the patients that she takes care of, working in an academic center, never being stagnant on learning, her dedication, and loving the patient population that she works with.
