Starting with Kamakshi Patel aka Kamashi Patel, Neurology. Had no idea this woman supposed dr had been lying on my medical record for years. Lying to my face about prescribing meds, failing to give results, dismissive of results and incomprehensible of interpreting stated results. •Milena Lobaina• Watch this one. Actually, avoid her at all costs if possible. Comes off to be, pit bull for UTMBs Neurology dept. She is going to stand her ground, no matter how wrong. She [acts] as an attending physician. She is no where close. She has a mouth on her. Fails to [listen]. Lies on your medical record. [Word] what she wants* not what is fact; not what you are saying. Dismissive of results. Also believes she can listen, type, and look at you - all at the same time. ? Disrespectful to peers. Another residents response, was lower than her hopes regarding my exam. She jumped all over the student, in front of me. Totally awkward for him and myself; felt his embarrassment. Lobaina also says you shouldn't believe the internet, that her "textbook" "classroom" knowledge is best. Failing to realize, [we humans] are [real] world, with real explanations. •Sun• A complete joke. She's clearly just floating around the department. Avoid this one. She does not listen. And tries to gain no understanding, just as the others I've mentioned. She also, lied on my medical record. •McKendall• Absolutely no bedside manners. He works in the "medical field" "healthcare" industry, but has an energy of hatred. It is strong. You supposedly been in the field [more than 50yrs] ? 50? And you don't look at the details of records ? Verbally stated to my face he didn't look and wasn't. How then? How can you assess someone's health [diagnose] if you're failing to listen and view patient history?. When y'all figure this out, let me know . Dismissive of test but later [charted] results. Lied on my medical record; blatantly LIED about a number of things. •Masel• Hell bent on not listening. He completely shifted me to another department of specialty, regarding my complaints. And, my complaints were no where consistent with his opinion. Unnecessary procedure. This happens when you look for what you want not facts, fail to listen to patient, acknowledge patient history. There are items charted on my MR that have gone unchecked. No follow up phone call or text regarding; of findings, no return to clinic for next step = no resolution. Doctors are supposed to resolve. My experience w/this department, they habitually love to pass off. *Pull your medical records. Comb through. Dig through. You may have surprise findings, just as me. I have never in my life, seen such a bunch hell bent on not listening or following through. Hope this helps someone.
After waiting 3 business days and a weekend to have my PCP referral "approved" by a doctor I have not met, I called the special appointment center for Neurology for a third time to finally receive an appointment for May 7 nearly two months from today. Good thing I listened to a friend and called other neurologists in my network. I now have an appointment for Tuesday -- and after speaking with only one person. Edit: Spoke with a concerned UTMB associate in Neurology and was provided cogent explanation for their "referral approval" system. Exceptionally kind and well-spoken representative. Sounds like quality people work in this department.
The doctor I saw here was brash and unfriendly, absolutely zero beside manner. If you're on medication that helps your seizures and the after effects expect them to change on your first visit. Providers with UTMB don't understand the concept of " if it ain't broke don't fix it".
I have been trying to get an appointment for 3 months now and can't even get one scheduled.
