Candlewood Suites Syracuse-Airport

Stayed here and honestly, had better accommodations at a Motel. Upon entering this "non-smoking" room, we were greeted with the unwelcoming remnants of cigarette smoke! In an attempt to mask the stringent smell of ashtray, a car deodorizer was clipped to the vent and three washcloths were taped to I assume, the vent on the wall! I feared not to investigate the story behind the washcloths out of fear of what may lay beneath. The bed was on the floor. YES, on the floor! We had no trash or garbage cans, and the room was not properly cleaned nor sanitized. Basically, it looked like someone was living there and had to leave in a hurry to give us the room. The front desk was notified TWICE and the only acknowledgment that was given was; "I will let my manager know." We couldn't open the windows because the screens were torn and our first night there was spent driving around a five mile radius looking for a room deodorizer so that we could breath. Stayed two days, and on the last we found the bed rails on top of the closet shelf, never received the requested trash cans or fresh linen. My husband and I travel a lot and sleeping in our car turns out to be a better experience. one star is placing this place at a very high regard!

Booked a room. Had a confirmation. Went to the hotel after a concert. No rooms. Multiple people in the lobby had also been told their room was unavailable. You have one job, you know how many rooms you have…..the lady at the hotel next door says overbooking has been a theme for this particular hotel for months. When I book a room, I expect a room. Do not try it or you will end up sleeping in your car. Negative stars

Stayed here a year and a half ago and it was great. Wow what a difference! No snacks or breakfast. No hot water in the bathroom sink. The alarm clock is off by over three hours and I can’t change the time on it. Dirty dishes in the dishwasher including the coffee pot! And there were fleas in my bed. What the heck happened? At least the young lady at the desk was friendly.

This hotel is not good. After waiting along with several other guests until after 4;30 for the room to be ready…. The sheets were stained with blood or fecal matter so that had to be removed by my husband, remote does not work so no TV for the next 8 days and there is no shower head in the shower. It’s like showering under a water hose. The front desk said the room couldn’t be added to the list to be cleaned and maintenance was off until Monday. Do better IHG, do better! Rooms: Dirty

We were passing through the area and thought to take an overnight stay so that we could be well rested for a drive back, but there seemed to be lackluster results. Firstly, the front desk seemed short-staffed, and although friendly, they had ran out of rooms, so we had to settle for a single queen when we initially booked two fulls. Second, when we arrived at our room, the air conditioner was making a trickling sound, and also couldn’t be turned off properly since the hotel had removed the control panel unless we used the circuit breaker near the door. Most of the room felt dated and a bit dusty, but the bed was acceptable and the shower was alright. Overall, I feel that this hotel was subpar to our expectations, and if you are looking for a good budget option, I suggest that you book other in advance, as there are much better options elsewhere.

-The room was dark because of inoperable light fixture in bathroom AND next to bed. -There was a split in shower curtain allowing water to escape onto floor. Needed a liner. -No garbage can in bathroom. -There were metal brackets on the side of the bed that were dangerous. You could cut yourself. -The time on the clock was not set. -No coffeemaker in room...despite this being a suite. -The soap dispenser was empty and dismantled. The exterior of microwave had dusty sticky exterior. The folks working there were nice. I didn't notice this until the next AM as I checked in late.
