Syracuse Jet Association (SJA) will become the newest addition to the Syracuse Hancock International Airport with the construction of its facility beginning this Spring. The facility will provide over 40,000 square feet of hangar and 10,000 square feet of premium office, conference, and administrative space for member jet owners. Along with bringing construction and operational employment opportunities to our community, the LEED platinum certified facility will be a showcase of innovative design and construction techniques.
Funded by private investors, the construction of the environmentally-friendly facility will take place in the following months. Local construction companies will be using domestic materials to complete the project towards the beginning of Fall 2013. Once operating, the SJA facility will become home to many new jobs and opportunities, as well as a gateway for businesses into central New York, resulting in an increased stimulation of our local economy.
In addition to services for jet owners, Syracuse Jet Association will offer a charter service provided by MetroAir (www.IFlyMetroAir.com) for those looking to fly faster and more comfortably at reasonable prices. In addition to providing FAA certified and safe charter to any part of the world, MetroAir will connect small and midsize airports throughout upstate NY and the broader region directly with commercial passenger services at the airport.
