This is an amazing place to spend time outdoors. You can bring your boat or kayak. This is an electric only lake however. I’ve caught plenty of fish here and they stock it with a lot of trout. It’s also a good place to ice fish when we do get some in Pennsylvania. Lots of musky, pickerel, bass, trout, bluegill, and crappie.
We had a wonderful time at Canoe Creek on Labor Day weekend. We were there in the morning before it started to get more crowded. The lake and surrounding hills are beautiful, and we saw a number of ducks taking off from the water. They have a small beach and swimming area that appears well maintained, as well as boat rentals. We spent an hour on a paddle boat, which kept our granddaughter happy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There’s a snack/lunch bar - we’ll have to try it another time.
Great fishing, nice walking trails, a cute kid area, picnic tables and great views. U can also rent cabins here. It's a nice relaxing get away even for just a few hours.
Beautiful park. Great parking area. Walking trails. Great family place. Restrooms: Changing area and bathrooms are clean. Picnic area: Picnic tables are plentiful. Lake is so beautiful and relaxing.
The park itself, is ok. Water isn't the cleanest. It has a small playground and picnic tables thruout. Plus side tho is they have a hot foods bar where u can order pizzas, cheese steaks, fries, etc. Beautiful view.
I take my kids here all summer long, they love it. The water doesn't get very deep in the swimming area, the sand beach is nice and they have a pretty good play ground. I did have my purse stolen from here this summer, and unfortunately they have no cameras anywhere which is kind of unsettling and they never caught the people who did it but dcnr was very helpful and on the case right away Playground: Nice playground, has a merry go round thay my kids love, more on the side for younger kids tho Restrooms: Restrooms and a mix of changing room, bathrooms and showers, it's very big and open, alot of spiders in the ceiling tho ainxe it's open air Dog-friendliness: Dogs are allowed as long as they are leashed and not in the beach area, plenty of trails for a nice dog walk through the woods tho
Great park for families and friends get together. Beautiful scenery and nice walking trails. In summer time you can explore the lake by renting canoes. You can also celebrate birthdays in the park for really cheap The also have summer activities events like star gazing. Ect....
Better than most State Parks. And the locals don't suck completely. Water is pretty clean. It appears to be very popular, a lot of people there even in the middle of the week. There are boat rentals, but nothing with a has motor. It's electric motors only. Bring your own kayak! Visit is worth a lazy afternoon if the weather is decent.
Nice state park with a variety of hiking trails. Modern cabins only, very nice. Very large lake, beach area, snack shack in beach area, boat rental, plenty of fishing spots, disc golf course, education center, pavilions, free book libraries both at the education center and the cabin area large bird house like structure with free books
Great place for the family or to head out on a hike. The lake is perfect. There is paddle boating and canoes available. I think it's one of the best spots around, by far!
