Canyon Creek Lodge is located 1 mile from the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort. The property backs up to the Lincoln National Forest and has a creek running through it.

Description

We have several one bedroom condos that we are very proud to rent on a nightly basis. They each have a kitchen, fireplace, king bed and a balcony the over looks the creek. We also have our little cottage that has been freshly remodeled. It has a queen bed, fridge, micro and coffee pot. It is nestled up next to the Lincoln National forest. It has a nice deck when you can watch all kinds of wildlife.

To provide a relaxing experience to couples and small families. We offer very clean, modern, updated units with personal care from the owners Ronny and Leanne Smith.

We stayed here for the weekend. The environment was nice but the cost is a bit expensive. Highly recommend it.
Great place to stay. I rented a unit for a vacation from cozy cabins rental. Way better value than a hotel. We have a porch with a river going by plenty of animals to see. Deer every morning. The unit has a stove and bedroom. My son loves the bunk bed. Only part that is not so great is the carpet needs to be cleaned. Overall I would recommend this place over a hotel anyway.
Came with a group of 8 for business, all staying in different rooms. It was clear from the start that all condos and cottages were not the same. Mine had new appliances and furnishings while others in the group had older fixtures. Though all well cared for in their own right. Of the 8 rooms only 2 had issues that were promptly resolved. I did hear of ongoing construction/maintenance from others in different buildings but did not hear or see it for myself. The only issue I experienced was the rooms lack of a trash can, a simple oversight of a newly refinished condo. Shortly after notifying the management company I came home to find 2, one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. There is a nice creek that runs down the edge of the property and an abundance of wildlife in the area. It was a peaceful and serene place to end the busy days. Overall great visit.
The condo is cramped, the hot water is not very hot and takes forever to recharge, there’s no working wifi, the mini fridge doesn’t have a freezer compartment which means the meat we brought spoiled, the microwave is a dinosaur with impossible controls, the pullout bed is uncomfortable, the TV picture is grainy and low definition, and the balcony view was less than impressive. The worst part was that the proprietor had the gall to charge us $885 for a 3 night stay for two people. We’d have been better off in an actual hotel than this neglected dump. Next time I come to Ruidoso, I am not returning to this place!
I would give a zero if possible! I spoke with the receptionist on Saturday and she said she would call me on Sunday to get my CC. She didn't. I called 3 more times throughout the week without getting an answer. Finally my husband spoke to her and she apologized for no longer having it available. I also spoke with her without knowing my husband had and received the same apology. 4 days later she called to try to charge our CC for not showing up for our booking! We will not be looking into this place again. Clearly they have no clue what they're doing.
Huge room comfortably sleeps at least six. Comfortable beds. Fill stocked kitchen. Nice furniture, working fireplace, and pets allowed. Nice view of a little Creek and deer. Far away from town so it's quiet. There's a little patio to enjoy the view too.
Horrible stay! I looked on Air BNB to see where we could stay in ruidoso! I booked over the phone and spoke to Sandra, she was very kind. However, we show up, our code didn’t work. We had to get a new one. We also had to switch rooms because the one she gave us was not up to par at all. She clearly didn’t check to see if it was clean before we arrived so it was DISGUSTING, previous guests trash and food and crumbs everywhere and unmade beds and their trash and pads and dirty dishes. So she claimed she would give us a 5% discount that didn’t happen almost a month later and still waiting for the 5% refund. Which mind you, is a slap in the face as is, at that point the stay should be discounted significantly, but if you’re going to promise any kind of refund, you’re supposed to actually give it! We were given a second room which she lied to me and told me they had no availability for this kind of room with more beds when I called her the first time and booked then she proceeds to give me the wrong code to get in again... At this point we were tired, annoyed and just over it. We got in late and me and my husband and girls just wanted to put our things away and sleep. That didn’t happen either... We had to live out of suitcases all weekend because there were full drawers with dirty socks and linens and old clothes and tools in every single drawer and the beds felt so dirty! As if they hadn’t been cleaned properly in God only knows how long. There were old vases and decor in the drawers under the bunk beds and old linens everywhere. Crosses from the walls were in the spaces under the beds and in the drawers... It was the oddest thing. The pictures on the site and air bnb are pretty and we thought we would be getting a good deal, but they look NOTHING like what they do online. Very trashy grounds and rooms and very unprofessional staff. Old items from other customers had been left and not cleaned and we woke up feeling very dirty every morning and dreading going back to our rooms several times a day. The beds were so very uncomfortable and as we were promised a queen, it was only a full. Still have yet to hear from the manager on our refund and seeing how they run this place, I doubt that will ever happen... Spend the extra money and save yourself a headache by going elsewhere.
I made a reservation March 2021. Gave enough notice for cancellation due to my brother getting covid. Spoke to lady in charge Sonia she assured me refund and here I am in May and never received refund. They will charge first day which is fine but will not refund if you have enough notice!!Very disappointed. Stayed here before ,a friend cabin. Never had a problem. Bad management out of El Paso
I really enjoy staying here. The cabins are cozy and have everything you need. amazing location with great views lots of trees and the deer are plentiful. I've stayed here nine times and will definitely come back
We stayed at The Cottage #62, and it was very well appointed, with modern/rustic charm and a comfortable, queen bed. The surroundings are beautiful, with several deer grazing outside, and ducks along the banks of Canyon Creek. Quiet, relaxing atmosphere make this a cozy spot for couples or married folks like us. The town is nearby, but far enough away to afford seclusion to travel-weary guests. The rates were very reasonable, and the staff was courteous and friendly. Would have given 5 Stars, but there was no Free Wi-Fi available, which was our only disappointment.
