Carbondale City Library

Got my library card and a pile of books. The process was so easy. I used the computer to access the card catalog and was encouraged to set up an account online along with being shown all of the materials can access using the internet.

Inspired me for the first time to get into this library and with public activity, today presentation for everyone.

This is a terrific resource in our community! The staff are extremely helpful and compassionate and will answer any questions presented! I love our public library and think it’s an under appreciated community resource that deserves our support!

I really enjoyed everything about my experience at Carbondale Public Library. The plethora of books was amazing and they were organized so neatly, making it easy to fine the ones I searched for. Most of all, the staff was amazing and extraordinarily helpful. Carbondale Public Library is now one of my favorite places to enjoy.

The Carbondale Public Library is the BEST! It's truly a community space. Fantastic and friendly staff, programming for all ages. A perfect place to co-work, meet your neighbors, and access shared resources. Not to mention the gorgeous interior architecture Thank you Library staff!

Carbondale Public Library is one of my favorite public libraries in Southern Illinois. I say that because it's the only library that's opened seven days a week, they offer a lot of resources for the patrons and people who reside in Carbondale, and they always have activities and events for children. I also enjoy being a fellow patron myself and being able to have access to all the upcoming events and activities that they have.

I love the library! They have a nice collection of graphic novels and manga. And the staff are always very kind. :

This is a big, beautiful library with very kind staff and a gracious policy that allows guest passes for computer use. Would definitely recommend a visit!

$155 for a library card if you live “out of the district”. Ridiculous 5 miles from town and this is the fee. No wonder so many people are uneducated and have no hope of getting access to books. Something has to be done. This should be free or little cost. The taxes paid in Jackson country surely could support this library. Staff was very rude, might be a good place to cut if they need money so bad.

Done some work here the staff is very friendly and computers are high quality they are upgrading there phone system and data delivery cables and have very clean and safe environment to enjoy a good book or do research
