Morris library is one of the best resources SIU has to offer. I highly recommend checking out the digital narratives lab on the 6th floor if you want to check out virtual reality, twitch streaming, or podcast creation!
Absolutely wonderful to now that my tuition and fees go to something such as this. Morris Library has been a key factor in my success as an SIU student. While studying late one night, a staff member started going around offering free pizza to students. Such a wonderful place. 10/10
I felt overwhelmed with the arrangement, cleanliness and quieteness. Riched in books, research dessertations, computer access. Nice place to study individually or in group. Also students with children has cool opportunities to study.
The most recent additions on the top 2 floors are great effective contributions to a social learning space where ideas can be shared. And above all, the staff here is one of the friendliest I've encountered. It's hard for me to settle in to pull long study nights at Morris, I seem to do that at home, but absolutely one of the most important buildings on our campus.
Very rarely I've had trouble with the library. With that said; Today Oct.17th, I called 8 times in a time-span of 5 hours 1pm to 6pm to check at what time the library closes, and no one answered. If I called 2 times in a row, back to back, someone pressed a button in the phone so it does not even ring. Very rude. I have to walk 1 hour to the library, and when searching online, I find 3 different closing times. In the Fall 2021 schedule it says the closing time is at 11pm, in the webpage it says at 8pm, and in the google business tab it says at 7pm. Answer the phone. Fix the info, to display a single, clear, closing time. And don't hang up on students who are calling!
Super friendly and helpful staff, large archives, distraction free computer work stations, and cheap coffee at Delyte's. Its evident they don't have as big of a budget for recent publications, but they have pretty much anything you'd need published before 2000. Anything they dont have from any era, you can likely get through their inter-library-loan program with the other state universities.
I at odds with student body for been talked to by administration and come uniform security. There still $1 bookshelf but my cellphone end want of $15/month public access internet n color printer. My want for printer been ended by walgreens.
Great place to study and hangout while on campus, especially now that the renovations have been completed. Highly recommend both the basement and 7th floor, as well as the oval/octagon room located on the 4th floor.
Very nice library! Lots of great places to study and tons of resources!
This is one of the worst place. Library computers have lots of restrictions, USB devices do not work, and so many bad issues...
