Fire Police unit of the Carbondale Fire Department
In 1961 fire police units from the Mitchel Hose and the Cottage Hose companies made the move to combine their personel and equipment to form the Carbondale Fire Police Association. Joined later by members from the West Side Hose Co., it soon became a strong, well functioning unit.
Members are State certified in all areas of traffic and crowd control, communications, emergency response, and legal concepts, logging hundreds of duty hours every year in service to the community.
In 2011 we were griven a 1998 Chevy ambulance by the Cottage Hose Ambulance Corps. and, after much work converting it to our needs, it was placed into service. Tactical Support 51 carries barracades, cones and other traffic control equipment as well as a portable generator and lighting system.
To provide a safe opperating zone around fires and other emergency scenes, and to aide the Police Dept. and EMS when needed.
