Cardiff Animal Hospital is all-around a fantastic animal hospital. My Standard Poodle was able to be seen on short notice for a foxtail removal. Dr. Ingram did such a wonderful good and I appreciate the staff for always being so professional and kind. They even followed up with me to ensure he was healing properly. Although, this hospital is not the closest to me, I'll continue to drive the distance because their quality of care and attention is worth it!
I actually have yet to take my dog here, but I wanted to share that based only on my scheduling and travel/pet needs and how they have worked with me so far, this team has been fantastic to work with. If you are in SD area and need a vet, this is the best place a pet parent could ask for. Special shoutout to the nurse who helps with pet travel because it is a headache but she has been awesome to work with.
I had the wonderful opportunity to work here and unfortunately due to family health issues, I was unable to continue. If you are looking for a vet who is going to provide top quality medicine and care for your furbaby, this is the place. They value every single patient and client who comes through the doors. I could name each person on the team and remember a time they went above and beyond for their patients. From the AMAZING receptionist kayla to the techs, assistants, manager Steph and Dr.s they will put their all into making sure you and your pets recieve the best care. Dr. Woods, Dr. Alum, Dr. Ingram are truly amazing, knowledgeable Dr.s and I feel blessed for the opportunity to have been on their team and learn from them. I recommend this hospital to everyone. They are a place you can trust
Awful vets. Refused to prescribe Lantus insulin to my diabetic cat because they said he had been diabetic too long to go into remission. They kept trying to get me to change his diet to Hills prescription for diabetes. I pointed out to them that their Hills diet has an enormous amount of carbs and since cats are obligate carnivores a Hills diet would keep him that way. I suppose that’s what they wanted continual managed care—-it seems to be all about money. I continued to feed my cat Fancy Feast Pate Classic which only has 1-2% carbs and guess what? Despite their working against me my cat went into remission. Then when we determined he was not in need of insulin they still wanted to bring in a specialist. I agreed to the specialist which was going to be expensive in addition to all the tests that needed to be run. Strangely I didn’t hear from them as they said and finally some other vet called me late in the evening to inform me his test results were pristine and she never would have known he was diabetic. My vet never called me and when I took my other cat in for constipation my vet didn’t even mention it. You’d think she would ask what I did considering they all said it couldn’t be done. These vets are the worst and all about money. Do not go there. If I could give zero stars I would.
Our GSD, Hunter, is post-op 2 weeks from TPOL surgery and we are very happy with the success of this surgery. He never appeared to be in alot of pain and he is healing very well. We followed the post-op instructions and had eyes on our dog 99% of the time, even sleeping with him nearby! This is an intense post-op commitment, as expected, and you have to be prepared to follow through as if it was a human family member. We are pleased so far with the outcome and the staff is very thorough when answering questions. Thank you so much!!
Thank you for fixing my dog! She had CCL surgery performed by Dr. Woods, nails removed, and a number of ear infections. Dr. Woods and staff shout-out to Madison have easily been the best health providers in north county. People at the park who have known me since i got my dog at 3 weeks old remark on how active and happy my dog is after switching to this vet. I have been to countless vets in north San Diego and they easily provide the best price to quality service you can find. If you love your animal as do I, you will not be displeased.
Maui and I have been coming here for close to 3 years now. The vet is obviously a stressful experience for most dogs and the entire staff does a great job making Maui feel super comfortable. From foxtails up noses to quick allergy shots...they can always squeeze time in to see my girl! Dr. Woods is fantastic and very knowledgeable. I have recommended my local friends to take their pets here! Great service all around and its nice to be able to see the ocean from the waiting room :
I had heard that Cardiff Animal Hospital had a change in ownership this past April, so I didn’t know what to expect during my first visit with the new doctor and staff, but I was pleasantly surprised! The new vet, Dr. Woods, was fantastic! She was very friendly, and took the time to really listen to my concerns. She was very thorough, and I appreciated that she explained everything so that I really understood her recommendations and plan. I could tell that she really cared about the well being of Lucy, and even though I couldn’t afford to do everything, she seemed to understand and never made me feel bad or guilty about it as has happen with the previous vets I have taken my pets to. The staff was also incredibly friendly and helpful, from the moment we walked in the door! They even called the next day to make sure that Lucy was doing better, and to ask if I had any questions. I wish I had met Dr. Woods many years ago with my last two dogs, but at least I know now that my dog Lucy is in good hands!
I work in the veterinary industry. In fact, I run a business that works directly with about 400 veterinary practices. I also love my two little dogs like family. So needless to say - I'm very choosy about who cares for them. I asked highly respected vets who the best in the area is - and that's how I found Dr. Woods and Cardiff Animal Hospital. My dog was diagnosed with a very serious acute condition this week. Thanks to the team at Cardiff, he is now back home, in recovery, and I couldn't be more grateful. They check all the boxes for what I look for: incredibly smart, unapologetically passionate, and uncommonly meticulous. This is truly gold-standard medicine. So, take it from me, if you love your pets like family, don't think twice. I trust them completely, and you should too.
