The customer service at Cardinal is a travesty. I have been a member since last November and last month I received a letter that said my account had a past due balance, and showed my monthly dues plus a late fee that almost doubled the charge. It is an automatic withdrawal, so I called to find out what was wrong. The card on file had expired. I had a new card with the same account number and a new expiration date, but instead of calling to tell me the day that the payment didn't go through or better yet calling me in advance to let me know that the expiration date on file had passed, they just let it go late, charged me a fee, and sent me a generic notice. I gave the new expiration date and inquired about having the late fee waived, as it was obviously just an oversight. Maybe, but only if I came in to talk to the manager in person and they agreed to do it. The manager is only there while I am at work, so I didn't bother. Though it was not really resolved to MY satisfaction, I was assured that the account information was updated and assumed I would not have any further problems. Today they called to tell me that my account was past due AGAIN. I explained what had happened, and after they asked me to verify the expiration date, told me they had the right year, wrong month. This in spite of the fact that the nearly-double-with-late-fee charge went through just fine last month. They said they would update my information again. I asked if they would waive the fee this time. She said she would put me on hold and talk to the manager. Five minutes later they came back and told me that the manager would "review" the situation and "if" it was their error they would call me back and let me know the fee would be waived. As soon as my contract is up I'm canceling, and in the meantime I'll make sure everyone I know is aware of how little they value their customers.
Cardinal Fitness is a major financial SCAM! Their contracts do not include an expiration/termination date, and they automatically renew your membership every year. Their member fees are "due for the time period designated", and memberships are effective until "any future date." Stay away, or else you could be financially liable for the monthly payment for YEARS. 1. Parties: The undersigned “Buyer” or “Member” or “You” have purchased a membership from Cardinal and by signing this agreement agrees to all of its terms. You also agree to follow all written or posted rules and regulations now in effect and to become effective at any future date. 3. Dues and Obligation to Pay: Member dues are for the time period designated and do not relate to actual usage of Cardinal.
I had numerous payment problems with this gym. They told me that my account was not active after I had paid - then when I canceled with more than 30 days notice- they continued to bill me. Then they tried to lecture me on the terms of their contract which I did not violate. But they did! The help was also very snotty.
I work in the building that they are located in and I love the manager Will but the way it is run cannot be right. They charge me 60$ today for a maintenance fee and funny thing is Im the maintenance in the building. And now they told me that I have to wait a whole month to have my account hopefully canceled
