The C.A.R.E.E.R.S. (Changing Attitudes Regarding
Employment & Education for Responsible
Students) Club is a program implemented by
Lawrence County Social Services, Inc. (LCSS) and
West Central Job Partnership (WCJP) with the
purpose of preparing local teens for the educational
and employment opportunities that lie
ahead of them.
C.A.R.E.E.R.S. Club offers eligible high school
students a year-round opportunity to participate
in academic enrichment activities and receive
mentoring. The goal is to improve students’
attendance and overall performance in school
with the ultimate goal of reaching high school
graduation and developing a feasible plan for
beyond.
The program is used as a support system to
provide case management services and assist in
eliminating any barriers that may interfere with
a youth graduating from high school and/or finding
employment. Support is provided through
the development and facilitation of workshops
and other activities.
