Since 1929 and still family-owned. Our bratwurst are made from the highest quality ingredients, and seasoned with a secret blend of spices that makes them truly special.

Description

We're famous for our bratwurst, but we're more than that! We have a full butcher counter, a deli, a large grocery area stocked with many fine imported foods, and a famous eat-in / carry-out hot bar. We also have an excellent selection of imported wines and beers in our coolers, as well as plenty of delicious snacks.

Our retail store is located in Bucyrus, Ohio, America's Bratwurst Capital. Bucyrus is a great mid-western town with many generations of German heritage. Carle's is located on old Route 30, the Lincoln Highway.

BEST BRATS IN OHIO!!! If you are even close to Bucyrus, YOU MOST STOP and get stocked-up! They also have hot food for a quick family picnic. Very friendly and helpful employees!
Carles is a staple in Bucyrus. Big community supporter. Fantastic selection of homemade foods in their deli and hot bar. We enjoy eating lunch here, my favorites are their chicken salad and broccoli salad. Can't beat their bratwurst! Fine meat selection. Friendly staff, clean store.

The only REAL German potato salad I have had in the US. Good brats at a great price! Good place for lunch to go or to eat in.

Delish!!! Decent lunch selection with small dining area.... very reasonable prices. Unique establishment with all sorts of brats and sausage, condiments, sauerkraut etc.
First time visit, but definitely not my last. Carle's has an interesting set up, being part grocery store and part hot/cold deli - including a "restaurant" area. The selection of meats and dry goods run the gammut of traditional German foods. The store is small enough to accommodate quick shopping trips, and a wide enough selection to accommodate the pickiest shoppers. I found the prices in the store and deli areas to be competitively priced.
Update: I continue to shop Carle's a couple times a month. Had Bourbon Chicken on Friday it's one of my favorites and the Pear Crisp. Both delicious!!! I missed getting the Pho again but I'll keep watching for it. Cinco de Mayo is coming up Thursday, May 5th and the special Hot Bar items they are making for it sound delicious Love how they keep making new offerings but still our favorites. Saw someone having a Pannini on Friday. It looked so good! I need to try one of those.... I love Carle's. I shop here a couple of times a month. They did an amazing job continuing to serve their customers yet keep staff and customers safe during the pandemic. They have inside dining again, but you can still call ahead and do a curbside pickup if you're more comfortable doing so. I get their Constant Contact email each week so I always know what the daily special is as well as what's on sale. I plan my visits accordingly. The hot bar choices are always delicious, besides the daily special you can choose from soups, sides, my favorite is the mac & cheese, casseroles, and dessert too. Haven't tried the paninnis yet but they look delicious. They also have a great deli with all kinds of cold salad choices, mac & potato. chicken salad is to die for, also love the egg, tuna and ham salad. Then you can wonder over to the cheese and deli meat area for fresh slices to go. Then move along to the fresh meat showcase with lots of great choices. Personal favorites are the stuffed pork chops, bacon and special grind beef to name a few. Usually grab a few things from the freezer too. Love the variety of bratwurst in the freezer. Recently tried the seedless links and they were a hit for me and hubby! Also like to pickup a small frozen ham loaf and a meat loaf. Makes for an easy week night meal. I've rattled on too long and haven't come close to all they have available for purchase. So just stop and check it out. Don't forget to grab some of their delicious chocolate and a bottle of wine too!
Everything & everyone in the place was top notch. Only reason I didn't give them a five star appraisal was because the prices are a bit too high.
Oh wow! Such a yummy place! Clean, staff was friendly and food was tasty! Will be back!
