A Mixed Experience: Delicious Pastries, Scorching Tea, and No Restroom. During my recent visit to Carlos bakeshop @ 8 avenue, I had the pleasure of indulging in some delectable pastries. The bakery offered a wide variety of options, from assorted cookies to mouthwatering danishes. Unfortunately, the tea served alongside the pastries was a major letdown. While the flavor was decent, the temperature was scorching hot. It was impossible to take a sip without risking burning my tongue. This was disappointing, as I had hoped to enjoy a warm beverage alongside my pastries. It would have been better if the tea was served at a drinkable temperature or if they had provided an alternative option.
Beautiful little place Times square Hot apple cider great. Pumpkin cheese cake so so not really Pumpkin tasting. Cookie with fondant frosting very good, lobster roll very good. Kind of smooched the 2 in a box cheesecake was side ways.
Loved going to this place. Very limited seating area. We oddly waited a long time to get the food we ordered. However once we got it they were amazing. Staff was nice they got us cold water when we grabbed room temperature water.
The cannoli was pretty good. The dark chocolate mousse was pretty good as well. I want to say the price is kinda high for me personally but the main reason for two stars was the customer service. It was awful. They messed up ringing in my order over 5 times at the register and you get not time to look at the selection. Also my dessert was upside down when I opened my box…
This is the place . Where are you bake good dreams come true!! The staff is amazing. The place is very clean . They have security at the door for your safety. Not that it is a dangerous place. It is just for added security. If you love cake ! The boss is here . Which ever flavor you decide to eat . You are going to be in for a treat! Try the cookie or the cake by slice . There is something for everyone’s taste buds. Bon appétit.
We weren't able to try the food bc the line was long and we wanted to do a lot more too, but seeing it was awesome. I've been trying for years and never working close enough to the Hoboken location. It was alot of fun to visit though.
Just got back from Carlos bakery. I was super excited to finally try the cannolis, but couldn’t decide between the original or the peanut butter. So I decided to get both. Both options tasted good, but I preferred the peanut to be honest. I do find the desserts pricey but I figured this would be my only chance. We also ordered the strawberry shortcake cup. Overall the experience was pleasant.
I recently visited Carlo's Bakery and while I enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly staff, I found the pastries to be average at best. While they looked beautiful and were nicely presented, the taste was not exceptional and did not live up to my expectations. The cannoli was decent, but not as amazing as I've had at other bakeries. The cupcakes were also average and nothing stood out in terms of flavor.
Overpriced, overated. We ate a hazelnut square that was filled with plain Nutella $8 and a chocolate cookie that was too sweet to the point we couldn't finish it. Coffee was ok, not a big deal.
It was ok. I personally didn’t see any special about this place. I personally didn’t know what it was or who he was. I guess my wife watches his show and wanted to try it since we’re here in New York. $10 plus for a slice and chocolate cake that looks store bought. I’m not a cake or a baker expert but it was just ok to me. The location I guess was a good size for manhattan area.
