K-12 school district in Carlsbad, California.
The closely linked roots of the Carlsbad community and its schools hark back to the early 1880s when the tiny Hope School District was established as "Carlsbad by the Sea" began to burgeon as an agricultural community and resort destination.
Today, the City of Carlsbad's public education needs are primarily served by the 14-school, K-12 Carlsbad Unified School District (CUSD). The student population mirrors the community's rich multi-cultural history and present demographics; notably in its mix of Caucasian and Hispanic students.
Currently, thanks to overwhelming voter approval of Prop P in 2006, venerable Carlsbad High School is enjoying a massive renovation while a new high school, slated to open in Fall 2013, is under construction. The combination of state-of-the-art facilities for both campuses, the tradition of excellent teaching and complementary, yet distinct program offerings at each high school, will provide an exhilarating range of choices for students throughout Carlsbad.
We provide every student an extraordinary education in an inspiring environment
